Brief Description of setting: General vibe has fun daftness of a mostly at sea adventure set in a high fantasy homebrew world with some modest Lovecraftian cosmic horror aspects on serious story details while also taking some mild inspiration from Ebberon, and various comic/anime nods. Setting is based in a world with odd occurrences of rifts to various planes, usually dangerous but somewhat controlled in parts. It is a more exotic race/species friendly world, so not human or preferably not human-esk or commonly used fitting in types. In its origin and in the present some of the average in power common races would be Dragonborn, Drow, Varied Genasi, Tiefling of many coloration and minor mix, Goblinoids, Kobold, and various more animal related folk. I do play in some personalised design flavour with such eg: an aarakocra may be designed to be like a bluejay, robin or cardinal. Other bigger world history topics enlightening more to the lack of human populace, cosmic phenomenon and certain hostilities/indifferences between other types of species can be discussed. I try to make good use of character backgrounds and their species connections to world to fuel story, adding and altering as things evolve. Kalashtar (Differently designed in origin via other species mix) Blood hunter - dealing with corrupted memory and past related to kidnapping. Fairy Bard - consciousness escaped from a variant of the deck of many Void card and found her body remains minimal in a clockwork toy. Story in motion: The group of female adventurers began on the docks of a central city of my own homebrew world with former players who each had life causes need for taking leave though still their characters are regarded as npc in story. The group has since made their way on seas with strange encounters and new understandings of phenomena linking them. When venturing on the ocean floor after backstory relevant face offs and timeline altering's the group gradually bonded further before having to take on a mission off world in aid of a friend's plight. About the world: We'll be playing in a world called Alver on the continent of Kronland. This is a heavily Nordic-inspired world. At the same time, there would still be distinct kingdoms with their own cultures, fashions, and styles. Norse mythology is deeply ingrained in the world.  The lore is inspired by Nordic mythology, but it is NOT Nordic mythology. It's a full-on pantheon and history I created. Some stuff will align and match, but much will not.  The continent is vast, and thus, the distance between cities, villages, and civilizations is such that the world varies greatly, from areas with rare magic and supernatural elements to cosmopolitan cities with mixed races, magic, and wonder. The game is designed to strike a balance between drama, grim humor, and epic adventure. It's not just grimdark or silly - it'll be a mix of all. A bit about the campaign Your characters are 16 years old living in Venice. It is the 1980s: Walkmans, cigarettes smoked behind the school, parents who don't listen, a city that is beautiful and damp and too old to be entirely safe. Something is wrong in Venice, and the adults around you can't see it. Expect a slow-burn, atmospheric horror campaign: heavy on investigation, relationships, and mood. Low on combat (!) when violence happens, it matters and it hurts. Think Stranger Things mixed with Breakfast Club and Call of Cthulhu. Why 16 years old Sixteen is a threshold. Not a child, not an adult. Old enough to act, too young to be listened to. Everything is louder at sixteen: the first loves, the first betrayals, the first time you realise the people raising you are making it up as they go. Something is being lost, and you can feel it going. That's the whole point. At sixteen your characters will be allowed to be wrong, to make bad calls, to trust the wrong person, to miss what's obvious. That's the material we build from. Their friends will be the centre of the universe; the party isn't a team, but a found family under pressure. And there will be moments when they genuinely feel they can change the world, because at sixteen you do, and sometimes you're even right. Heya! I’m Marlow (17, They/Them) and I’m honestly looking for a group and DM whose willing to let me join their table! Hello everyone! My name is Beau, I'm 27, FtM, and use he/they pronouns. I'm looking to run a homebrew DND5E campaign in person for 5-6 players. I am more than okay with new players and happy to teach what I know, since I’ve been playing for almost ten years now! Between 18 and 21 may be considered based on needs and comfort of the group, but it makes me personally uncomfortable because of the age gap.  -Any harassment of or fighting out of character with other players will be grounds for removal.  -Consent is key - Flirting in character is fine, so long as everyone is comfortable with it. No means no. Adult, questionable, and/or steamy scenes will fade to black at the table, but outside roleplay is welcome between players. -Due to a deeply ingrained piece of lore and several plot lines, players are restricted from playing any Underdark races. The Setting: high fantasy, high magic world with multiple developed countries/nations including their own lore, laws, and demographics. Much of this campaign will take place in a region that’s been heavily magically altered and even corrupted. Though most regions are a melting pot of all races, many originate from one location or another, so the race you play may determine where your character was born or where they have family. Legends say that there used to be dragons just roaming about, living peacefully amongst mortal races, seen flying overhead on the daily. But for around 500 years, true dragon sightings have been a rarity, and only the golden dragon has been spotted in that time. The Plot: For as long as even the eldest elves can remember, Ipica has been split into three regions, each stuck in a separate time and space. And for just as long, scholars have tracked the slow creep of corruption twisting the eastern shores of the land. There’s historical writings of something called the World Tree hidden deep within Eastern Ipica - could it be involved somehow? Now that the crawling, strangling vines and chilling shadows have reached the edges of major and minor cities alike, local and national governments have decided that something needs to be done about it. But legislators aren’t equipped to run into what used to be wild fae land and is now something much more confusing and unknown - that’s where our adventurers come in. Trekking through bone-chilling lands populated by things seen just out of the corner of your eye, fighting previously unimagined horrors and keeping each other alive in the dark winter of Eastern Ipica… It all takes incredible skill and trust in your fellow man. Hello friends and neighbors. I'm here because I'm recruiting for a brand new, long-running low-to-high fantasy adventure in an original setting. Players will take the role of fledgling adventurers, normal, everyday people called by circumstance or wanderlust to embark upon the journey of a lifetime. They'll cross through strange lands, become embroiled in quests of earth-shaking importance, meet strange and wondrous people and most of all, become who they were meant to be. Think Frieren, Witch Hat Atelier, Name of the Wind, or the video game Wildermyth if you want an idea of the aesthetic inspirations. The story will begin in the sleepy town of Drecorshire, a rustic village out in the woods that's about to have a very, very strange visitor pass through. As for where it'll go from there... well, you don't want me to spoil the surprise! A bit about myself: I'm 28 years old, he/him, and I'm an author and game writer with over a decade of DM experience, most of it online. I've run a variety of systems, from good old 5e to Pathfinder to WoD to PTBA to Godbound to Cain to Blades in the Dark and so on. I love storytelling and worldbuilding and collaborating with players to tell long, emotional and intensive stories that surprise and delight us all. For this game, we'll be running Legend in the Mist, a fiction-first fantasy roleplaying game that focuses on the use of Tags to allow players to define their characters and capabilities. All player characters will start the game as more or less ordinary humans, though there's a little wiggle room for 'human with some innate mystical characteristics' if you want. If you find that limiting, I understand, but I would also offer for your consideration that all the most interesting people I've ever met are humans, and you are too. Player characters will begin the campaign as fairly mundane people, not seasoned warriors or adventurers - think farm boys, amateur alchemists, petty conjurers, hedge squires, good women of the woods, noble's daughters run away in search of adventure, that sort of thing. That's not to say they can't be older or have seen a thing or two, only that they ought to have room to grow. More information about the world will be forthcoming, but for now you can consider it to be a very hazy, vibes-based big tent fantasy setting with quite a lot in it. We are an old school group. Were doing ftf, but started online of late with players getting spread out. Currently play every other Sunday 10-2 CST but are somewhat flexible. Looking for up to three new players. I use mostly Core with APG, UM, UC, UCG, UE, about two thirds of the Golarion splats and a few others that I own. General rule is if I own it I will consider it as a source. I have Herolab and try and put all characters in it. I have most of the older sources.  I do not use Unchained. We tried it, didn't like it as a group. And yes you can play a decent rogue without it:) I and my wife can anyway. She often is the rogue of the group. Having been raised in Raptio all her life, she's dying to get out and see the world she's read about in her books and scriptures. Joseph: A hardworking 24yo single man. He has brown auburn tufts of hair, a strong, tanned body, and eyes like the midday sky. He was born and raised in Raptio Peak and dreams to someday see his grandchildren running along the plains of green grass he planted and tended. Nike: A determined 53yo divorced woman. She has loose strands of salt and pepper hair, a toned, fit figure for her age, and eyes cold and black as the ocean. She has explored the better half of the Midwest and has decided to settle down here. She says it's because she can see the sunrise from where she lives. Winchester: An easygoing 40yo businessman. With a gleaming bald scalp, a rotund body, and a tiny, beady eyes, he's looks like a very stereotypical wealthy man. He's on a business trip and decided to stop in this town for the night, the night before the train broke down. 20 year veteran of dnd. I am looking to run a game that will be a long term campaign but laid back. I am working to create a system where you dont have to be available every week and not worry about missing a game due to life. It will be one shot games that are set in a broader world. Players would be guild members to an organized thieves guild that spans multiple countries. Every week we would meet to do one shots based around jobs your group takes and along the way maybe find deeper lore. If players are open to it some jobs can span more than one session. DM looking four players for a new series of 5.5e one-shot games for "Faster, Purple Worm! Everybody Dies, Vol. 1."  We meet weekly Thursday nights in person. They say Eryx's army has taken Elyndral. The capital has fallen along with its god. The army marches west, and in two days it reaches Bellmere. The Adventurers Guild is swamped. The portal network is overwhelmed. Not everyone will escape in time. Half the city is in the streets devolving more and more into a mob by the minute. The people you care about are looking to you, and there is nowhere safe to take them. Except one possibility. An old crypt to the northwest, a contract nobody touched because the war felt more urgent. Something in there is raising the dead and poisoning the surrounding forest. Clear it, and there's shelter. The war just arrived at your doorstep. The crypt won't clear itself.

Story Brief I'm making a game set in the lawless outer systems of our galaxy, in a soft sci-fi setting. Due to the ongoing conflicts in the Hegemony core worlds and the increasing amounts of dangers in the outer systems, the Hegemony has decided to utilise an unprecedented resource. 'Reformed' apprehended anomalies whose powers can be controlled. You will join a crew made up of former recidivist anomalies as part of a secret project. Each of you are low-level anomalies, but together you may be able to bring more powerful threats to galactic peace to justice. In doing so, you will be ever closer to your freedom. In service to Hegemonic Juidiciary Command, you can expect to bring to heel true threats to the good, working, diverse races of the Galactic Hegemony. These include such fearsome foes as Interstellar Drug Cartels, Hostile Alien Fauna and Flora, Rogue Anomalies, Unbound AI Cores and more! System Savage Worlds and Companion Books - mainly Sci-Fi, Super Powers and Fantasy. Savage Worlds is 'fast and furious' with medium crunch and explosive dice which can lead to some pretty wild situations. Ran on Foundry VTT with Discord for voice and media sharing. Date and Time Flexible right now but gunning for Sundays at 18:30 GMT (22:30 ET). We will be running weekly sessions and each session will run for between 3 and 4 hours. I estimate the overall first act of the story will take 10 sessions. From there, we can see if the story has the legs to move forward. I think it will, but we will have a 'season finale' which will be conclusive enough if players want to leave it there. The first session will be on April 26th, so just about a month from now. Theme, Tone and Touchstones You will be a 'Rogues Gallery' group of minor supervillains who have agreed to a contract with Hegemony to possibly gain freedom. The tone of the story will be fun, irreverent, action-packed with moments of heart-felt slice-of-life, tragedy and drama. It's a character-driven space opera where new alien species and soft sci-fi phenomena can be introduced on the fly. One session might have the players boarding a supposedly long-lost battleship which has inexplicably appeared in the orbit of an inhabited planet. The next may be stopping the assassination of Prince Obrelisix by the agents of the Entropic Veil as revenge for the persecution of their cult. Themes can be suggested by players for however they want their characters to develop, but ones that I will include as the GM will be things like reluctant heroism, redemption, recidivist temptations, space slice-of-life and crew drama. Touchstones are things like Guardians of the Galaxy, Suicide Squad, Dispatch, Borderlands, Invincible, Rick and Morty, League of Legends Odyssey, Beyond Good and Evil, Creature Commandos and I am sure many more. Hi there! I'm a DM with over 15 years of experience with various systems covering most genres and including officially published games and homemade systems. In the past few months I've rediscovered my love for the Battletech universe and would like to run a game in said universe. I will list as many details as I can. The year is 3035 and the party are members of a very down on their luck mercenary company. After a botched contract given to them by House Kurita, the company's commander is MIA and down to minimal resources, meaning a couple Leopards, two barely functional Lances of Mechs, and about 50 personnel. With each passing week handfuls of Mercs once dedicated to the company are scalped by other companies or agents of the Houses of the Inner Sphere. The party consists of those unwilling to give up hope and those who wish to see the Company rise in status, all while kicking ass, taking names, and drinking gin. The Details The game will be run every other Wednesday starting in mid/late April, most likely from 7pm-11pm EST. The game will use Discord for the majority of communication, though I am still figuring out what I want to use for gameplay. Either Foundry or a tool most suitable for BT. The systems used will be Mechwarrior 2e for ground level gameplay and classic battletech for everything else. A place mixing magic and technology, the Xedian continent is primarily ruled by the Asosallian Empire headed by Emperor Sata Ralda IV. It is an expansionistic Empire that has set its sights on the continent to the South and region to the East of the Empire, but has been held off by war and political tension respectively. The Empire views the people to the East of its borders as allies, but tension is high, while people found elsewhere in the world are to be brought under the power of Emperor Ralda himself. This campaign is set for a party of four to six adventurers and has a small focus on exploration and survival, while the grander plot focuses on gaining knowledge and accumulating resources to survive a harsh nation. At the beginning of the campaign, the players will find themselves arrested for crimes they didn’t (or did?) commit, being brought across the Nora River to the town of Bieyron to the East. They have overheard that they are to be slated for execution by hanging, no matter their crime, as they are being made examples of to the general populace. Payment will be collected weekly via paypal at a rate of 5$ per hour played, up to a maximum of 15$ for three hours per session. If session goes over that, such as being in the middle of a combat or an intense scene, you will not be charged additional unless the agreed upon time frame is longer than three hours. [5e 2014 & 2024][Boise, ID area][LGBTQIA+ Friendly] Veteran DM looking to take some cool people on a homebrew adventure. Hello everyone. I am looking into starting an offline game in my area. As of now, I am looking for 2 people who would be in the mood for a long term campaign. Who are you, strange internet person? I am a man in his mid 30s who has been playing TTRPGs for about 15 years. I started with 3rd edition, made my way to 3.5, skipped 4th edition, and found my home in Pathfinder for the majority of that time. I recently wanted to expand that portfolio into 5e with the 2024 ruleset but I will allow for usage of the 2014 ruleset pending review! This is my first 5e game so expect a lot of rule checks. That said, I have physical copies of 6 of the books (DMB, PHB, MM, TCoE, XGtE, and MotM). What sort of game will we be playing? The game itself will be a dark fantasy and post-apocalyptic world known as Relovia. No, there is no relation to the setting for Curse of Strahd. Relovia suffers under the blight of the Stillborn Moon, a failed god seedling that has turned Relovia into an ashen hellscape of mutated monsters, aberrant horrors, and terrors beyond imagining. I would say it is a high fantasy, low tech campaign but there is nuance to that that would be heavy spoilers. It’ll be a great time! Themes include body horror, cosmic horror, survival, existentialism, hope, and defiance. The campaign will be about 70-30 between roleplay and combat. 70% of the campaign will be social encounters, exploration, and the like while the other 30% will be combat. A very important fact I need to share about Relovia before we continue is that Relovia has no connection to gods or other planes. This means that the power granted to you by gods or external powers comes from within, through study, force-of-personality, force-of-will or whatever else. That means that if your powers explicitly come from an external source (such as Warlock) we can talk about how that power manifests without a patron. I don’t want to spoil too much but I do have a master document that’ll be sharing about Relovia if this piques your interest. You don’t necessarily have to make a good character but you have to make a character that wants to take part in this story and wants to travel with the group. Actions will have consequences and Relovia can be an unforgiving place. We’ll have a full Session 0 where we’ll all make characters together and set boundaries and expectations for myself and the players and their characters. I am aiming for a heavy immersive game and so backstories are mandatory and coming with the attitude of wanting to explore the world, while not mandatory, will help you enjoy yourself much more. I hesitate to call the game a sandbox because I do have a central story idea in place but a lot of that central plot can be discovered by simply exploring and interacting with the world. When will this game take place? I have a strict work schedule so as of now the only time the games can take place is on Sundays. Currently, we play at 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM Local Time. Mountain time! As of now, I have not nailed down a start date for the campaign, though, as I am wrapping up a long-term Pathfinder campaign with some of the group currently. I am shooting for early to mid April. What kind of player am I looking for? I’ll be straight up, I am under no illusions as to what kind of state I live in. If you’re a bigot, a Trumper, or a fascist, you need not apply. The table does tend to have a few minutes of time at the beginning of each session, to chat, mingle, and politics frequently comes up. As far as classes, the only class that is not playable is the Artificer just due to the fact that it does not fit the setting.
