I’d like to find people who enjoy a good balance of roleplay and combat and weirdly built characters, I just wanna have fun along side my husband and make new D&D friends that we can play with more regularly

So, to give some information. I (27M) am looking to get into a Star Wars game with a character that's been brewing in my mind. I'm a forever DM who is looking to play more and thought, what the heck. I'll try here. Days available: Saturdays Bi-Weekly at 7 PM EST Type of Game: Heavy RP, Open Galaxy exploration, Deep immersive story, political intrigue. Preferred time periods: Anywhere from the Clone Wars to the Galactic Empire era What kind of player am I?: I'm a guy who likes building a character with a detailed and fleshed out backstory. I prefer building characters based on what story I want to tell rather than min max or power build (cause honestly boring) as I feel flaws help make a character and add to the story. What am I looking for?: A DM and party that I can bounce ideas off of and work with to make a great story and memories with. I want the be able to find a group that we can have fun with while also having one helluva adventure. It's very important that the group themselves understand that we're all here to have fun, but if there ends up being a problem I will let the DM know and hopefully we can work on it. Character I want to play: A Sith Lord who during the time of the Old Republic and the war against the Zakkul Empire, was experimenting on ways to create instant teleportation via a force ritual. However, due to him making a slight miscalculation he was sent forward in time and is now stranded in a time where things are very different and now must make more unlikely alliances in order to survive. Hello, there! My name is Rampy (AG; any pronouns) and I'm looking to take part in a long-form campaign. Preferably on a weekly basis, but as long as we have consistent, sizable sessions, bi-weekly is fine. I have ample experience with the D&D 5e system (2014, not so much 2024) and enjoy all aspects of the game. I am new to roleplaying, but eager to grow in that area. I like to think I have a diverse playstyle, capable of filling gaps in parties in needed, but I tend to lean toward martial classes and the "jerk with a heart of gold" archetype. While I prefer D&D 5e (mostly due to familiarity), I am flexible in terms of what systems. I've also played Deathwatch, Mutants and Masterminds, Pathfinder 2e, Rogue Trader, Shadowrun. Additionally, I'm willing to try new systems or the numerous D&D 5e homebrews such as Final Fantasy XIV, Monster Hunter, Pokemon, Star Wars, etc. In the lengthy gaps between campaigns, I've spent an inordinate amount of time homebrewing and creating characters. I tend to like sprinkling a little (or sometimes a lot) of homebrew in my characters, as I feel it helps them feel more personal. This is not a requirement for me to enjoy the game, but such allowances (with DM approval, of course) are greatly appreciated. My only limitations in terms of player conduct and game content are the usual things: No bigotry, communicate when you have problems, keep in-game conflict in-game, and be tasteful when describing horrible or otherwise NSFW things. I enjoy roleplay very much, but I tend to play characters that are closer to extensions of myself. I also enjoy playing powerful characters and having a positive effect on the world around me. Some have said that I like to play "mary sues" or "power fantasies"; i find these terms somewhat derogatory, and I think that characters with a static arc can be just as interesting as positive or negative arcs. For instance: Paddington Bear does not have a character arc. He has zero moments of self doubt, even though he has flaws. However, most people consider the paddington movies good: this is because it's about how paddington inspires and uplifts those around him. Combined with the realization that flaws in one circumstance can be boons in another (and vice versa), i think a static arc can fit well into a character-focused campaign. I am fine with sharing the spotlight and working with the rest of the party, though I sometimes struggle with that due to autism and ADHD impacting my perception of social situations. Lately I've been trying to actively encourage myself to help the party using 5e bard-like mechanics focused on helping other players with skill checks. I can't promise that I'm a perfect player, but I can promise that I'm always trying my best to be fair and kind to others while also getting my own needs met. If you don't agree with my stance on static arcs, we probably aren't a good fit for each other. Also, as a result of my characters being extensions of myself, my politics often bleed through in my actions in the game world. I'm a raging socialist, and so my actions oriented around making the game world a better place will follow that philosophy.

I'm a player that loves seamlessly inhabiting a fantasy world. Making setting-specific characters is always a fun challenge, and in my opinion, the best way to really ground a character. I like doing voices for my characters and I'd be lieing if I didn't say that sometimes I make a characters' personality a certain way to fit the specific voice I can pull off. Dialogue and interacting with other players is probably one of my favorite things in DnD. Most of the times my characters are serious, but that doesn't mean that funny things can't happen. I want to have a good time at a table with friends. Even though I gravitate towards role-playing I don't dislike combat. I try to make characters in line with the rest of the party so as to keep things fun for everyone, and I always make sure to keep my turns fast. My 2-year campaign skipping around Aurelia just wrapped up—sadly, a few of our crew got swallowed by the scheduling conflicts dragon. Since then, I’ve become an outside-the-box thinker and a very active roleplayer—I love digging into character motivations and bringing scenes to life. I relish the thought of writing my 300 word bio and having a qwerk the DM can play with (Last character was a foodie and actually ate a goblin to make friends). My play style leans lighthearted; I’m usually the jokester at the table, but I know exactly when to straighten up and fly right. I’m big on collaboration, always willing to adapt to others’ needs, and I really value that same energy in return. I tend to gravitate toward spellcasters, but I recently stretched my legs with a Goliath Barbarian for a one-shot and had an absolute blast. As the title says, I'm looking for a Pathfinder 2e game. I've never played it, but I'm looking to get into it since I've taken an interest in the system. I'm in the EST timezone, and my available times are Fridays from 5pm to 11pm, Saturdays from 9am to 6pm, and Sundays from 10am to 4pm. A bit about me, I'm a guy who got hooked on the Baldur's Gate 3 bandwagon which introduced many folks to DnD 5e. I've played TTRPGs for roughly 2 years, and I have experience in both versions of DnD 5e and Sentinel Comics. I've been a player for my whole TTRPG career, but I aspire to one day DM myself. Personally, I like drawing and games such as PEAK, Terraria, Destiny 2, and others. I prefer games with a balance between roleplay/exploration and combat. I'd like if character backstories are relevant to the game in some way, mostly through plotlines and quests. Again, I've never played, so I'd also like a group that's welcoming and willing to help me learn how to play.

I am fine with almost anything in games except S/A, at table Racism(IRL)/Sexism/Anti LGTBQ+ stuff, Slavery(Not that it exists in worlds... more like it being labeled a good thing), overly gratuitous violence(like no issues with normal stuff, just avoid eye/throat trauma stuff, or just going way to far), . I am fine with Romantic rp, but i won't participate nor want to be involved with sexual rp. Random Trivia about me: Been mostly stuck dm'ing for years, with most of my games being anime inspired/based as i am a massive anime fan.(based as in, the game happens in the world with the plot of the show just not happening or taken and used in my own ways). I don't really have a fav anime, but Re;zero, Steins;Gate, Mushishi, Natsume's book of friends and Made in Abyss would be up there, though i am weak to romance in general.

Hey everyone! I've been playing D&D for about 8 years now and am looking to join a weekend group to kind of branch out from my usual one that I've had since college and see how other people play the game so I can eventually bring that knowledge and experience back next time I DM! So, to that end, I'm looking for a group that meets anytime Saturdays, or late Sundays. I can discuss specific times and work things out if we get to that point! My playstyle: I tend to play characters that have a reasonable balance of combat and exploration ability, who don't necessarily go and cause the action, but will certainly get themselves involved and/or finish it depending on what's going on. Recent characters that I've played have been a Reborn Human (Van Richten's lineage) Warlock tank, an Elf Creation Bard, and a Satyr Druid/Wizard. So, I tend to be able to play around the board a bit. My preference on combat/rp ratio is probably something like 25% combat, 75% rp, and can fluctuate toward something closer to a 50/50 split depending on the campaign. I live in the Eastern US, so I'm on CST time. I'm hoping to aim for sessions any time at or after 5 PM Central on Fridays or 8 PM Central (-6) on Sundays. I can't really think of anything else off the top of my head, so I guess just send me a chat or message if you're interested!

I own a number I have either rarely or never played but would really like to play, namely Aether Nexus, Armour Astir, Lancer, and Mechwarrior Destiny (huge BT fan). I'd be interested in other systems like Mecha Hack or Beamsaber, but I don't yet own those rulebooks or have read the rules. Obviously I would get the rules and read them to join a group. Other than that I'd also be very interested in playing Fabula Ultima again (played around 10 sessions), Sword World 2.5 (played once and a bit solo) or the Cowboy Bebop TTRPG (only GMed once). I've been a roleplayer in different forms (TTRPG, Forums, MMOs...) for about 25 years now, so have plenty of experience and prefer roleplaying, storytelling and serious worldbuilding over beer and pretzel and meme play. As a player, I always try to create characters that fit the setting and provide the GM with hooks from my characters' padt to use for the game. I wouldn't be averse to taking up the GM mantle down the road, or playing GMless altogether as well (I have plenty experience with that), I'm just having my hands full with two games I'm running. Also, English is my second language, so I'm talking with an accent, but own a proper mic.
