A former teacher, I am very newbie friendly (to both players and GMs), and am gooder than most with the word use-ing for to tell things and show other things and for the explaining. Hello. I have been playing D&D 5e for 2 years, looking for a weekly game whether in 5e or 5.5e. Preferably evenings in the weekends, as I am available after 6 PM EST. Definitely can commit to a consistent weekly game night provided that if 1) IRL does not throw a wrench my way or 2) game is canceled. I enjoy a game where it is combat focused, in no way I am against roleplaying, could mix it up between the two. I love story‑driven, character‑focused games with a good splash of combat rather than pure dungeon crawls. My favourite crew to watch is the Oxventurers Guild, so I’m looking for similar rule‑of‑cool vibes – fast and loose when it makes the story more epic or hilarious, with room for gallows humour and messy characters. Experience‑wise, I’m new to playing but not to worlds, story, or character building. Hi there! I'm looking for a game with people who love the comraderie of roleplay. I enjoy a game that is balanced with combat, problem solving, political intrigue, travel, survival or whatever aspects the GM wants to put our merry band up against. I'm in your world now. Play Style: I'm serious about having fun. I'm low maintenance and I fit well into most groups. I'm a stickler about showing up on time to every session. I put a good effort into making my characters fun for the other players as well as the GM. I'm not much of a min/maxer. I don't know the powerful builds as I tend to add to my characters in a manner consistent with their back story. I write modest back stories and try to include multiple hooks that the GM might choose to use somewhere along the road. I prefer to see a good story or interesting outcome rather than fuss over rules. I tend to get in character and stay in character for an entire session. I'm not adverse to long sessions, provided we have appropriate intermissions. Experience: I haven't played for two or three years, so I'll need a bit of help getting back up to speed. I know nothing about 5e 2024 rule changes. I'm generally a quick study and willing to learn anything new. I'd prefer a DnD 5e 2014 game, but would be willing to learn 2024 and I do have some experience with PF2e. I'd also be interested in playing Starfinder 2e as a completely new player. I have GMed homebrews in 5e on several occasions, but my first choice is to participate as a member of the party. I prefer Foundry VTT, but I have participated in past games using Roll20 and DndBeyond. I have fairly in depth knowlege of the inner workings of FVTTv12/13. Ive had a few PF1e sessions but didn't dive in much due to the DM's style of railroading the party with gags. While i have a lot of love for 5e for what it has given me in my life, I feel much of it's setting and lore are very watered down or currently absent. I haven't played much with the 2024 rule update. However, I have always been a fan of 4e and would love to play in a 4e game, FREE, or even a PF1e game. Any other TTRPG listed in my tags are all games I'd like to try. Im very flexible in my playatyle as im willing to fill whatever role a party needs and have no trouble trying out a different class than what I originally had in mind. I dont MIN/MAX, and i tend to work closely with any GM who runs the game. Hi I live in Gran kommune, one hour north of Oslo in Norway. I have been playing and GMing since the 1980s. I believe that i am a suportive player. I some times struggle with atttention, so I prefere shorter sessions, especially online. My GM style is balanced, but with a tendencie for "Action bias". I am not strong on "tactical combat" and optimal character-builds, and prefere creativity, rulings over rules and theater of the mind. I've played D&D constantly for about 6 years, and I've made it the only thing I really do outside of school and work and such. I really enjoy D&D, not particularly because of the combat or roleplay, but more so because of the pure creativity and lore in campaigns. Hi, I've been a long term roleplayer since the 1980's (yep im old!). No played face to face for about 5-10 yrs. I knew early that I can't GM to save my life, however many times I tried. It was just no fun all round. I have played many various types of TTRPG's over my 40yrs of playing RPGs, from D&D to Cyberpunk 2020, GURPS & Judge Dredd. I enjoy light-hearted gaming, as making character based decisions & not being the magnificent unbeatablle hero is the most fun for me. I do play more serious games & campaigns. Just not as much. For PF2e/SF2e, I have fully read the rule books and want to get a feel for the system. For D&D5/5.5e I am already comfortable, and have DM'd a little. Hey there! I'm still fairly new to TTRPGs - I have been playing DnD 5e for about 2 years now and would love to join a (bi-) weekly group - preferably on the weekends. I do enjoy battles and exploration - but I really enjoy the roleplaying aspect, even though I still feel like an awkward introvert sometimes and need a sec for my brain to catch up and think of an answer or reaction. But discovering what makes a character tick, seeing what bonds form between party members, how they react to the world and shape it in turn - for the better or worse - that's the good stuff! I like a broad spectrum of fantasy genres - be it ghibli-esque charme, sword and sorcery, gothic horror or dark fantasy, or whatever else may strike my fancy. But I am rather fond of morally complex worlds where not everything might turn out 'good' - where not every victory feels heroic, where things are seldom pure 'good' or 'bad' and where the choices the characters make, or don't make, have consequences further down the line. Also: English isn't my first language, but (I think) I am fairly proficient in it, even though the talking bit might be a tad rusty from lack of use - but what better way to brush up on this skill than playing make-believe and having fun bashing bosses and planning plots?

Open to in-person or online gaming. I have kids, so working around family schedule is a consideration. Generally, I lean to more narrative gaming than combat oriented. A combat map + hours to resolve combat is a turn off to me. I've played a long 5e campain in the past (over a year with weekly online / Discord meetups), but i am not so interested in most 5e anymore. I've run some short Mothership 0e and Mork Borg campaigns as well as a number of one shots in other systems.

I've currently bought the core books for Vampire, Werewolf, and Hunter (all 5e) and am down for learning and playing those, or trying out the 20th anniversary games (though I'd need some way of accessing the rules for those). I'm available on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays from 8am to 12pm PST (sometimes available late at night depending on my work schedule). I'd love to find a group to explore the world of gothic punk horror with! I like strong and engaging roleplay, with plenty of opportunities to explore my and others' characters, though I also enjoy a good combat. I can be a bit shy with new groups, but if the group is willing to welcome me in, I usually open up pretty fast.
