Interested in GMing: – Possibly! It would be my first time, but I’ve got a nice place to host and a solid story outline ready to go. Hi, I’m Michael! I started playing D&D about seven years ago with a group of friends. We dusted off some old 3.5 books and spent countless weekends exploring worlds and slaying monsters. These days we play 5e, and even though our group is pretty big, 10 to 11 players (yes, our GM deserves a medal), we still have a blast every time. That said, I’ve noticed that those sessions don’t fully scratch my D&D itch. I often find myself browsing through rulebooks, building new characters, and crafting elaborate backstories… only for them to end up gathering dust. Fun? Absolutely. Satisfying? Not quite, I’d much rather see those characters come to life at the table. So I’m looking for a more serious group where story, character development, and group dynamics really take center stage. A group where combat isn’t just about rolling dice, but also roleplaying choices and consequences. Metagaming is fine, as long as the decisions characters make actually make sense in the world. And while I’m mainly looking to join a group as a player, I might be interested in DMing as well. It would be my first time, but I’ve got a nice space to host, a campaign outline I’m excited about, and soon a 3D printer so I can make some minis and terrain.
