The Adventure: Welcome to Druskenvald, a realm choked by eternal autumn and ruled by forgotten superstitions. The harvest is failing, the woods are hungry, and villagers are whispering to things that hide in the pumpkin patches. You are outsiders drawn into a twisted folklore nightmare. To survive, you must navigate a land where fairy tales are lethal, hags strike bargains for memories, and the very shadows want to devour you. The Pitch: The Crooked Moon is a campaign built around sinister witchcraft, ancient curses, and deep psychological horror. If you want a campaign that feels like The Witch or Sleepy Hollow, where the environment itself is your enemy, look no further. Bring a character who can survive the dark. https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmqzxic7m000nl7041x5xckid?ref=cmpe26gha0035ji04azjpab18

The Adventure: Something foul is sweeping across the land, leaving a trail of absolute depravity and terror in its wake. In this campaign, your team of investigators, mercenaries, and survivalists will travel town by town, stepping into completely unique, localized horror scenarios. One week you might be solving a grotesque local curse, and the next you'll be fighting to survive a localized slasher nightmare. Every town has a dark secret, an active threat, and a completely unique flavor of horror to unravel. Can you solve the mysteries and cleanse the region, or will the Midnight Realm swallow you whole? The Pitch: Built from the twisted scenarios of Libris Nocturnum, this is a gritty, episodic grimdark campaign. Expect heavy investigation, thick atmosphere, and unforgiving horror where your wits are just as important as your weapon. The Rule of Cool is always active—bring your best roleplay and sharpest tactics to survive the road. https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmr5toq5n00n9js04nt2lzrj9?ref=cmpe26gha0035ji04azjpab18

Aquelarre - dark medieval fantasy RPG

Im interested in finding 4-5 players, who would be interested in playing Aquelarre, which is a medieval demonic fantasy role-playing game.  Aquelarre is set in the Iberian Peninsula during the 13th and 14th centuries of the Middle Ages. Players take on the roles of normal humans who walk a fine line between living ordinary and legal lives of drudgery, or using forbidden magic to lift themselves out of squalor. For more information check out the wiki: information about the game I'm new to this game myself and as of yet there is no campaign. But for playtime I'm planning on creating a mini-campaign or just run 2-4 sessions of loosely tied adventures. Ideally sessions would take place on one fixed day during the workweek starting from 18:00 CET. The first session would be character creation as the game offers very unique backgrounds & professions and then also a mini-adventure to familiarise ourselves with the basic rules. If you are interested write to me here or on discord (mekaso).

Something happened to you—something you still can’t fully explain. A moment of fear, loss, or shock tore a hole in the world just wide enough for you to glimpse what most people never see. Since then, the shadows feel heavier. The silence in the woods lasts a little too long. And the stories you once dismissed as superstition no longer feel like stories at all. You are entering the Mythic North, a nineteenth-century Scandinavia where the old ways linger in the spaces modern life has yet to reach. People whisper about strange lights across the fields, figures watching from treelines, and traditions that must never be broken. You know now that these warnings were not meant for children—they were meant for you. You carry the Sight, the ability to see vaesen of myth and lore. With it comes responsibility to investigate mysteries that involve unexplained situations. When something disturbs the balance, you will be the one asked to face it. The unseen is waiting. What to expect: 🔹 A mix of premade mysteries and custom mysteries based on character backstories 🔹 A customizable home base that you can level up and gain benefits from 🔹 19th century inspired feel of alternative world Scandinavia 🔹 Story driven plot with character development implemented Never played Vaesen? Do not worry, this game is open for all. The system is easy to learn and easy to play. Link to game Primer to get a better idea of the game's tone and feel. Game is $30 + SPG Service Fees Per a session. Link to game can be found here on SPG. Contact me if you have any questions.

No politics of any kind: right, left, sexuality, real world religions, excessive feminism/whatever etc not allowed, if you have a need to make a fuss about that, you will be kicked out. It's perfectly fine to have those views, but don't bring them to the game (this is meant to be fun, social, intellectually challenging). If you have major psych problems that get in the way of simple social interaction (explosive outbursts etc) don't contact me. I do ask for telephone number just in case of you not showing up to game and you didn't tell me otherwise. Emergency stuff, like if you get sick or something. I do care about my players! I have been GMing since 1997 or so, cut my gaming teeth on AD&D first ed. I go above and beyond for my players. I am very adept at teaching, btw. This campaign is on Mondays at 6pm Central time Discord video chat, but we could change time/day if the other players are willing and able. Gimme a heads up the day before canceling a game, always be ready to play at least 75% of the game sessions. You gotta make the characters WITH MY DIRECT ASSISTANCE as I make sure they fit with the group and campaigns, plus I give out extra benefits. No twinks (must have absolute power immediately types), but I will assist you with the math to make a potent PC as possible. Lots of stupid puns and jokes. My campaigns tend to be accidentally lethal, and my NPC's tend to react within the bounds of their Intelligence scores, and ruthlessly so. I poke players into beefing up their defenses in the low levels (in between game sessions), and I am adept at teaching, I value intelligence and wisdom in a player. I have no problem with potent PC's, so long as they play well with others and make sense. I tend to be very helpful in between game sessions, giving as much relevant info as possible without spoiling the plot, with less info for veteran players. Quite military friendly, as my NPCs tend to react realistically and tactically. I am extremely good at teaching, not just game mechanics but also tactics, even interaction with fellow players. During game sessions, I play all my NPC's to the hilt, so if they are actively trying to kill your PC, that's how it is. I rarely fudge dice results, when I do it's for drama's sake, trying to make the game exciting and interesting. Vampire has difficult to make characters (you distribute dots, there are no classes). However the game play dice mechanics/rules are easy as heck. The hard part is that it demands more forethought to play, because there's a lot of deceptive NPCs, including your own. It is oddly more ethical/moral than medieval fantasy games by far, even though you don't play a hero normally, and even though you're a vampire feeding on humans and aren't human yourself. It's darker I suppose, lots of intrigue and figuring out what is really going on. Kinda like watching Babylon 5 or Dune, you have to take notes to recall everything that could be vital later. A LOT less combat than medieval fantasy games! It's rare, but nasty when it does occur. Maturity is advised. Note that I broke my campaign down in a timeline, it can be altered yes by PC actions, even down to the year and month. The only thing I haven't added in is the end of the world, Gehenna, YET. The modern day core rulebook is the one you want to spend time reading for the lore, but dark ages will have the discipline dice mechanics. Also, the Book of Nod will feature in the campaign. VERY DETAILED homebrew campaign that can be changed if you do exactly the right things at the right time, you will want to take notes to refer to later on, no exaggeration. RIght now they are in mid 1990, you will get their average xp to start with. You even get free generation if I can find a sire, an extra dot of disciplines, and 5 extra freebie plus 2 merits (Potent Aura, Common Sense/1 dot of Status). I give free Generation if you take from the official list. This can vary wildly based on what the two of us come up with (you dictate the parameters, I figure out how to make the mechanics do what you want and tell you about potential problems, and I pick out flaws so as to give you your own story arc). If you take from the Obscure list, you can buy your generation to 7th if you blow 6 background points on it.  Still gotta pick up Mentor for your sire, though.    I had to make tiny changes to V20 to make it simpler, faster. Like Celerity, Fortitude, Potence. Also I don't use abilities like Awareness, Larceny, and I kept the damn Linguistics, Dodge as they are needed. That kind of thing. I even have combat rounds with meaningful character range when I gotta be aware of the local terrain/number of villains etc. The Giovanni I replaced with Cappadocians and Lamia, as the Giovanni were megalomaniacs and incompetent besides, plus they don't seem to be at all relevant to any setting. The Ravnos I replaced as being totally divorced from the rest of the game, they don't have any influence, and seem to exist solely for troublemaking players. So, they got booted in favor of the Salubri, who actually ARE useful from a GM's perspective. Finally, I outright replaced all Setites with Baali, the latter are a much better written, and much more competent version of the Setites' Lovecraftian "I wanna bring demons into the world" schtick.  I noticed that if you played the Sabbat as written, they'd be wiped out entirely by werewolves, human hunters, and the Camarilla long ago. Worse, if they somehow managed to survive, they'd be discovered as vampires by humanity BECAUSE of their silly anti masquerade antics. On top of that, eating one's elders is a bad idea. All the Sabbat had was neonates and super buff elders, nothing in between. That means their stated purpose was a shambles. I changed their purpose to (eliminating the focus on fighting clan founders) dominating humanity, making humans into slaves. The Black Hand has been subsumed into the Sabbat as a whole. Official list of clans/bloodlines you can take in Chicago compatible with the group as it is: Nosferatu (must take Dark Fate flaw), Toreador, Ventrue, Brujah, Gangrel (Sabbat), Malkavian, City Gangrel (Camarilla), Tzimisce, Gargoyle, Caitiff (Anarch typically), Assamite (Milwaukee Sabbat), True Brujah. Obscure list (you can take them if you want, but you won't have support from fellow clan members in Chicago): Salubri (Warrior and very Camarilla), Lamia. if you pick from the official list, I can give you free generation, but you gotta also pay for mentor ratings. If you pick from the obscure list, you can BUY up to 7th generation, but you blow 6 dots to pull it off. You will likely still need a mentor though. Caitiff are interesting, I made them able to teach ANY discipline they learn; normally the 13 clans can only teach their clan disciplines. A Tzimisce who goes Camarilla eventually has huge story potential, and could aid the group extensively via Vicissitude, Koldunism (need a level 3 ritual late in the campaign), and Animalism to hose over werewolves and aid the party vs frenzy. Brujah, Toreador, Ventrue, True Brujah, and the healer version of Salubri, all have clan access to Presence, and level 3 of that power requires Appearance being high, so a PC could be quite the entrepreneur among vampires and humans..... A Tremere is possible, but you'd need to be a diehard Anarch (meaning the local Tremere want your keister dead, although good news for you that the Chicago ones are less than competent). Got a Cappadocian (a hospital morgue doctor), Salubri (one healer(an FBI agent), one watcher (a homicide Chicago police detective), and Lasombra (an amateur boxer and criminal lawyer, he wants to go Camarilla).  If you don't know the clans, I can give you information but you will need the core rulebook, the dark ages core rulebook, tome of secrets, and Erciyes Fragments books. Also a total of 20 d10's, basically two matched sets of 10 d10's, but the 2 sets cannot match each other. Preferably translucent dice, not solid. You will want a spiral notebook and a mech pencil with a white eraser preferred (its gonna be a super complicated campaign lasting at least 2 years of weekly sessions). A plastic page protector for the character sheet, and a wet erase marker. Might be a good idea to get the V20 modern core book just for the fluff and abilities, but that's up to you as it isn't strictly necessary. The Guide to the Camarilla from the Revised edition might be handy, but not strictly necessary. Prince's Primer is nice for understanding elder vampires' mindset.

🎓 Who Are You? You are a student at the **Nocturne Conservatory**, a hidden college for young witches beneath the town of Duskfall. Most students are between **18 and 22 years old**, balancing two very different lives. By day, you attend classes, work part-time jobs, hang out with friends, and try to survive college. By night, you study advanced magic, dangerous rituals, and centuries-old traditions. Whether you were born into the magical community or discovered it later, you're still trying to figure out who you want to become. --- # 🏫 Your Two Worlds ## ☀️ Life Above Ground Outside the Conservatory, Duskfall functions like any other small coastal college town. You might spend your days: - Attending university lectures - Working a part-time job - Meeting friends at cafés - Going to concerts - Pulling all-nighters before exams - Exploring the town - Joining clubs or organizations Most people believe Duskfall is completely ordinary. They're wrong. --- ## 🌙 The Nocturne Conservatory Hidden beneath abandoned salt mines lies one of the oldest magical colleges in existence. Here you'll study subjects like: - Ritual Magic - Arcane Theory - Demonology - Magical History - Wards & Protection - Potion Brewing - Cursecraft - Spirit Studies -Evocation -Divination Your professors expect excellence. Failure can have consequences beyond a failing grade. --- # 🎭 What Is This Campaign About? This is a character-driven supernatural mystery focused on: 🔮 Magic 🕵️ Investigations 🎓 College Life 🤝 Friendships & Rivalries 📖 Hidden History 🩸 Difficult Choices While combat certainly happens, your greatest tools are curiosity, teamwork, and creative problem solving. --- # 🧙 Creating Your Character Think about the person behind the magic. ### What are you studying? Examples include: - Magical Law - Ritual Studies - Alchemy - Spirit Research - Enchantments - Magical Medicine - Ancient Languages --- What's your life like outside class? Do you... - Work at a bookstore? - Play in a local band? - Run the campus radio station? - Captain an intramural team? - Volunteer in town? - Spend every night buried in the library? --- How do you feel about magic? Maybe it's... - Your calling. - Your family tradition. - Just another subject to pass. - A burden. - An obsession. - Something you're still learning to trust. --- Why did you come to the Conservatory? Everyone has their own reason. Maybe you wanted: - Knowledge. - Freedom. - Answers. - Prestige. - Adventure. - A fresh start. --- 💬 Roleplaying Tips Your character is an adult, but adulthood doesn't mean having everything figured out. Lean into uncertainty. Make mistakes. Build friendships. Question authority. Support your classmates. Sometimes the biggest victories happen outside of combat. --- 📖 What Your Character Knows Every student knows: ✅ Magic exists. ✅ The Nocturne Conservatory is one of the oldest magical colleges in the world. ✅ Duskfall has a hidden magical community. ✅ Magical traditions are deeply important. ✅ Strange things occasionally happen around town. Your character does **not** automatically know: ❌ Every magical secret. ❌ Every hidden faction. ❌ The truth behind Duskfall's history. ❌ Why certain traditions exist. Those answers will be discovered throughout the campaign. --- 🌒 Welcome to Duskfall Study hard. Trust carefully. Question everything. Because in Duskfall... **Some secrets have been waiting centuries for someone to uncover them.**

Online, 0e ODND, CST, Thursday-Saturday; What? Old-school 1974 D&D similar to Shadowdark, and Old School Essentials. Emphasis on open world player freedom. Party up and play when your schedule allows. Travel a hex grid. Meet, recruit, and barter with NPCs across the world. Carve out your name in infamy, fame, or obscurity.  How? Discord used for communication and record keeping. Miro used for visuals. Voice recorded, transcribed, and processed for notes to keep the world consistent. To enter the game contact via discord or Groupfinder DM if interested. Who is playing? Drop in/Drop out West Marches style. Play 1-on-1 with DM any time on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, or coordinate with others to schedule with other players in group effort. Player cooperation not required, you can adventure with NPCs for equal treasure share or hire them on other terms. Speak with players out or inside of game to meet in specific places. Enter the timeline in approved places. Having multiple characters in multiple locations in the game is advantageous as the world is vast and distance takes time to traverse. What are the rules? - Chainmail (some not all), The 3 brown booklets. - Knowing the rules isn't required to play because it's so simple - Character classes are: Magic-User, Fighting-Man, Cleric, Elf, Dwarf, Hobbit Tips? - The DM will not remind players of quest options available to the players. - Notes and good memory are important. Knowledge is precious. - Hiring NPCs is a core mechanic - No set story. No narrative or character arcs. Story emerges from random results of the game, so play like no one is watching but the NPCs.

Sunday +2 GMT, biweekly, 20$ per session Foundry + Discord Sign up on Startplaying HERE - You are part of secret government organization that deals with unnatural threats and protects the world from experiences you will need to live for the rest of your life. Conducting a Delta Green operation is like an immune system response; you must identify and destroy the infection before it kills the body. This campaign comprises of six operations for new and old Delta Green players that would like to face reality where lovecraftian monstrosities are more down to earth then you would think. You can join for all of them as one ongoing cycle or pick and choose which operations you would like to be part of - check "party notes" below to see which operation is currently played. • Reverberations: Reverb is back in Chicago. Users vanish, leaving wrecked rooms behind. Stop the source of this unnatural threat. • Viscid: A geneticist dies in Seattle. Unnatural "Blue Blood" is spreading. Confront a lethal conspiracy before it’s too late. • Music From a Darkened Room: 18 people died at 1206 Spooner Ave. An agent just joined them. Enter the house that is cold, alive, and hungry. • Extremophilia: A deputy dies of poisoning in Montana. Stop a contagious threat before you become its next vector. • The Star Chamber: Adjudicate a mission in Myanmar. Replay choices to find the truth: did they betray humanity to the Tcho-Tchos? • Observer Effect: A lab looked too deeply into reality. Isolate the staffers before a mindless chaos consumes our existence. Never played Delta Green? Don't worry - game is simple and you will pick up the system as we play! We will kick off with session zero to agree on table rules and expectations. Before joining be aware that this game is for mature players and will involve difficult moral decisions as well as might involve emotional roleplaying about human relations and their slow degradation. It is not a happy game about killing monsters. It is a game about consequences. This is an ongoing campaign. We finished Viscid and are looking for fresh blood to start Music From a Darkened Room.

Ravenloft Parish: Curse of Strahd in Louisiana

Homebrew Homebrew
Horror Horror
Before I begin on the actual campaign related content: I am looking for people who would be interested in helping test run a system I have been working on for a good couple years. If that at all interests you, then please message me. Ravenloft Parish is the symbiosis of classic southern gothic tropes and settings with the story of Curse of Strahd. The valley of Barovia is a swampy hellscape deep in the heart of rural Louisiana. Forgotten by the rest of the world, it is the toybox for a vindictave and powerful vampire, whose power has stood uncontested for centuries.

Harvest Festival at the End of the World

Paid game Paid game
Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
A capsule campaign of 5-6 sessions  $25 weekly Every October, the hillsides above Cindervale catch fire with autumn color. The Last Sheaf Festival brings the whole town home for nine days of harvest markets, cider, and the great bonfire where the season's final sheaf is burned in thanks for the year that's ending. It's the kind of tradition that feels like it could hold a world together. It can. It has been. For three hundred years. You are of the Chancery: former soldiers of the void who once fought to unmake Creation itself, and then, for reasons you may not fully understand, stopped. You are still dying of a strange, personal bane that's killing you. You still can't quite pass for human, but you're imbued with powers to remake the world in a variety of ways. In this postcard mountain town, you have noticed what no god, spirit, or power is capable of seeing: the festival is a ritual, the ritual is starving, and something underneath the valley is beginning to wake up. Your characters are Excrucians: beings living with the fact that the world is fundamentally, structurally (cosmically) wrong, and deciding what is still worth caring for. This game is styled as an existential, cozy folk-horror and a low-combat game of investigation and town drama. Glitch is a diceless and conversation-driven system that relies heavily on imagination, creativity, existential philosophy, ambiguity and collaboration.

(Warning this is a dnd like not dnd) you live in a small town in the country-side. You get "recruited" to a private school you never heard of, your parents agree to send you there sense it's free because of a "scholarship" you definitely deserve. The day before your first day at that school you start seeing a dark figure. Yes this is a spirit summoning game where you battle with different spirits coming from different places. (inspired by persona and Shamman king) Your Character gets a partner Spirit that can be of 3 main spirit types: Shines: spirits made by postive emotions. maybe your character really likes jokes so their spirit is a clown. Shades: spirits made by negative emotions. maybe your character really hates being social so their spirit is scary to scare off others. Object Spirits: spirits made by strong emotions towards objects. Maybe your character really likes a spinning top so their spirit is a spinning top. other Spirit types: Bound Spirits: spirits made by a living things dying but being bound by something such as a goal or a resposability. Mythical Spirits: Spirits made by legends or myths because humans believe they'll real. Game Themes: low fanasty, modern, school live, horror this campaign is still being made and wouldn't be ready for a few months.

Monday – Saturday, a group decides on day & time. Most people will probably play between 16:00 – 21:00 (GMT+0) Played in Discord voice chat A lot of people wanted to play, but later they went passive/ignore mode. Please, message only if you are going to play, don't make the other players wait Discord nickname: weebseatshit *PREMISE* You are dragged into a dangerous encounter together with other unlucky ones. Now you are bonded whether you want it or not. Since you are a witness, some people want you dead, watch your back(s) & trust no one It's a Forgotten Realms based, custom (homebrew) campaign with an emphasis on story, characters & adventures, *WITHOUT LEVELS & STATS. "Theatre of the Mind" playstyle (means no VTT). Casual, beginner friendly Every player can has his own, custom spells/abilities. Custom spells should be created within reason. Imagine that those spells are used against you. A player has up to 5 spells from the start A player should choose a class that is the closest to his preference & then create spells/abilities. If a player can't, i'll help I'd like every player to be equally powerful Only these races are allowed: Human, Elf (Moon, Wood), Dwarf, Goliath, Tiefling (Purple, Pink, Blue), Tystling (a human with cat ears (& eyes)) These classes aren't allowed: Artificer, Barbarian, Monk, Psion d20 roll results: Dungeon Master sets a number in an RNG & decides what success number a player should roll Spells don't need mana or d20 roll to be cast, they only cooldown, but if a player is gonna spam spells, i'll Elfen Lied him or put some shit like Leo Bonhart from Witcher that will equalize/balance him *COMBAT* When combat starts, characters & their enemies roll for initiative to decide who goes first (the one with the biggest number, then decreasing or as Dungeon Master decides) If it's a tie result, reroll To choose a target for an enemy, Dungeon Master sets a number in an RNG To attack, character & other character(s) roll d20. If attacker's number is bigger, he deals damage. If attacker's number is less, a defending character dodges. A defending character can perform a counterattack, but if he fails, he receives damage To defeat (wound) a character: • Character must receive damage a certain amount of times • Character does it with any possible way (using environment, persuasion) I'll describe locations, looks, with little to no details. So, when a player is for example in a forest, search for "D&D forest artstation" or "forest artstation" & ambient You can check The Witcher 1 video game. It's my main inspiration when it comes to background (buildings, outdoors, interior design, clothes, general looks, basically all) Just like with the books, i'd prefer that player imagined his own stuff (& because there may be an info that player may not get or just ignore)

Rolicrite "Realms of Chaos"

Homebrew Homebrew
Newbie friendly Newbie friendly
I run a homebrew game set in Exandria. We use Roll20 and Discord (Physical dice encouraged). Will often allow ROC over RAW. SUNDAYS: 11:30AM EST (3-4 player spots available) Continent: Rolicrite (Rohl-uh-kreet)-((Roll A Crit haha)) An ever shifting island continent, of the Shattered Teeth. In the wake of the Gods' fall a century ago, the ancient wards that once concealed the island kingdom of Rolicrite shattered, revealing its shores to the world. For centuries, Rolicrite thrived in isolation, a bastion of untold magic safeguarded by enchantments as old as time. When the barriers between planes were torn asunder and the gods were stripped of their divine might, the island of Rolicrite became a crucible of arcane backlash. Nature itself rebelled. The skies ruptured with fury, birthing an unrelenting tempest that raged for 100 days and 100 nights. Though the initial Hundred Storms faded, the magic of Rolicrite was changed forever. Even now, years later arcane maelstrom storms, remnants of that cataclysmic event return without warning. Towering cyclones of arcane chaos twist across the island, sometimes touching down with devastating effect. Their presence is marked by violent weather, mutating energy fields, and magical surges that cause spells to backfire, mutate, or even rewrite the laws of physics briefly. But the true terror begins once the storm has passed. When the Maelstrom lifts, it leaves behind a dead zone. A scar across the land where the Weave is utterly severed. In these Nullfields, magic simply ceases to exist. Spells fail, enchanted items lie dormant, and even divine miracles fall silent. These zones can last anywhere from a single day to a month, and their shape and size are unpredictable. Creatures caught within a Nullfield at the moment of its creation often find their magical essence drained permanently. Familiars vanish, warlocks lose their patrons’ whispers, and magical creatures may become mundane or even die outright.... Your adventure..... To All Concerned Citizens of Eastgaurd and the surrounding Keeps, It is with great urgency that we inform you of the recent prison break at Shadowspire Penitentiary. The most dangerous criminals, once contained within its walls, now roam free. We implore all residents to remain vigilant, stay indoors after sundown, and report any suspicious activities immediately. The escaped prisoners are armed and highly dangerous. If you encounter any of them, do not engage directly. Instead, alert the nearest guard post or town authority. Your safety is our utmost concern. May the gods watch over us all in these trying times. Sincerely, Eastgaurd Council of Safety TOWN CRIERS WORDS EXTRA! EXTRA! HEED THESE WORDS, CITIZENS!" "Shadowspire Penitentiary — breached! Its black walls shattered in flame and chaos! Dangerous criminals now stalk the roads and rivers! Stay indoors! Lock your doors! Hold your loved ones close!" "Among the escaped: none other than exiled noble Jareth Blackwood, former prison warden turned traitor!" "All able-bodied citizens and bounty hunters are urged to report any sightings to the Warden’s Keep immediately!" The party has spent weeks pursuing Jareth "Shadowblade" Blackwood, the one responsible for the prison break and the current leader of The Cult of the Whispering Veil. Their investigations have carried them across dangerous roads deep into a swamp in search of an ancient temple lost to history. Through recovered journals, interrogations, and hard-earned clues, the party has learned that Jareth intends to perform a powerful ritual during the upcoming Summer Solstice. The ritual's true purpose remains unknown. Jareth has spread his influence and scars wherever he travels. Those he considers useful, capable, or simply unfortunate enough to cross his path are taken. Some willingly, most by force. Once captured, they are fitted with enchanted masks imbued with ancient shadow magic, robbing them of their free will and binding them to the Whispering Veil's cause. What awaits at the temple is still a mystery. Some within the party believe Jareth seeks to summon an ancient entity imprisoned long ago beneath the ruins. Others suspect he plans to sacrifice his followers to ascend beyond mortality himself. Whatever the truth, one thing is clear: The Summer Solstice is fast approaching, and if Jareth is not stopped before the ritual reaches its climax, the consequences may extend far beyond the borders of the swamp.

Rock and stone eh? Pick up your ax and hammer we are going Dungeon delving. The forgotten halls call to us and the lost riches even call is louder! The ancient and forgotten halls of Ku'h Buldar lay dormant for years. It's halls echo of its glory days gone past, remembered only in myth and legend. Until one faithful day a Dwarven prospector stumbled upon the ruined gate of the lost civilization. After that the rest followed, the prospectors, adventurers, settlers and thus the community grew. Guilds were created. Daily ventures became a norm. Gold, riches and some artefacts were retrieved but there were more to be found. You, a young strapping dwarf eager for glory sign up in a guild. Get assigned to a group and begin your fist decent. This game is for the dwarf enthusiast and short king lovers(but not excluding the rest). The setting is going to be a little gritty but still lighthearted at times. Will be using some homebrew rules for items, classes and species. The main species will of course be The dwarf. Gnomes are also allowed. NO TALL FOLK HERE!!!(ofc some exceptions are allowed) The structure of the game will be a kin to a rougelike dungeon delving.  As the great halls are separated in many layers. Each so called run will have a different outcome as slowly the secrets and treasures will be unveiled.  Will be discussing much more details on session zero character creation, the vibes of the setting and much more. Session 0 is free.

Looking for a Curse of Strahd game with a DM who leans heavily into atmosphere, roleplay, and immersion? I’m currently recruiting for multiple weekly Curse of Strahd campaigns and would love to bring some new adventurers into Barovia. I’ve been running D&D 5e online since 2017 and have several years of experience running games through Roll20 specifically. I have Roll20 Pro and make full use of the tools available to create a smoother and more immersive experience for players, including dynamic lighting, API mods, animated maps/effects where appropriate, and organized handouts/journals. I also put a lot of emphasis on presentation and mood. Expect ambient music, combat tracks, creepy soundscapes, and distinct NPC voices to help Barovia feel alive. Curse of Strahd works best when the atmosphere really lands, and I do my best to make every session feel tense, memorable, and cinematic. I'll share my compendium with players, so you’ll have access to official Player’s Handbook classes, subclasses, spells, and features directly through Roll20 for easier character creation and leveling. Whether you’re a veteran player looking for a strong gothic horror campaign or someone newer wanting to experience one of 5e’s most iconic adventures, you’re welcome at the table. Platform: Roll20 Voice: Discord System: D&D 5e Price: $10/session (Session Zero is free) Weekly Game Schedule (EST): Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday — 4:00 PM EST

Hi.  I run a game on Wednesdays. Eastern time zone on Discord that I feel needs one additional player.   It's a young group (20's, 30's) and have been around for a few years.   There are 5 players.  The game itself has the players with corporate security jobs defending against alternate realities/histories.   So, extreme violence but with the occasional HR training module about problemsolving skills. Yes,  the worst of two worlds. Because it's alternate reality fighting alternate realities, the player can be whatever they want, quite literally anything.  GURPS allows the players to create whatever comes to your imagination,  but we'll worry about that later.  The tricky part isn't what we do but how.  The group does try to outdo each other in weirdness.   It's not murderhobo, but a new unprecedented thing.   So, you will have to keep that in mind.   This is not for the humorless or overly moral or easily uncomfortable. Think of this as a means to lead you down a new path,  one where you learn about a you that you have never met but has always known was there or you get your money back,  no questions asked.  Feel free to message me or discord - yeroldpalwill.  Seriously, they're a nice group of people and you'll have fun.   Having a sense of humor & a personality is a huge plus.  Thank for reading this far.  If you're a newbie  don't worry,  I'll help with the character.   Just combine your two favorite movie, literature, or anime genres together.  Also, Wednesdays,  7 PM eastern.

This is Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk. And you are about to become the heroes this town didn't know it needed.” 🎲 Level Range: 1–12 🖥️ Platforms: Foundry VTT, Discord (Voice), and Start Playing Games (Scheduling & Payments) ⏰ Session Length: 3.5–4.5 hours, every Tuesday at 9:00 AM EST (1:00 PM GMT) 💰 Price: $24,95 per session 🆓 Session Zero: Completely free! The campaign is fully supported through Foundry VTT, featuring automation, dynamic maps, immersive audio, visual effects, and streamlined character management to keep the focus on roleplay, exploration, and adventure. Welcome to a campaign that embraces classic high-fantasy adventure, full of wonder, camaraderie, and the thrill of discovery. Above all, this table is a safe and welcoming space for every kind of player. Whatever your background, whoever you are, you can set your worries aside and step into a journey full of fantasy and mystery alongside friends old and new. This adventure is also especially crafted for beginners, those who don't yet know much about the world of Dungeons & Dragons or the system that ties it all together. I'll be right there to guide you every step of the way, so whether you've never rolled a d20 in your life or you're a returning adventurer, Phandalin has a place for you at its table. 🏳️‍🌈 Safe and Welcoming Space This table is built on respect, inclusion, and collaboration. Everyone is welcome here, regardless of identity, background, or experience with tabletop RPGs. Whether you're rolling your very first d20 or you're a seasoned adventurer, you'll find a friendly group ready to share an unforgettable story together. The goal is simple: make sure every player feels comfortable, heard, and excited to take part in the adventure. 🗡️ A Classic Call to Adventure Step into one of Dungeons & Dragons' most beloved adventures and discover why Phandalin has become such an iconic destination. What begins as a simple escort mission quickly unfolds into a tale of forgotten legends, ambitious villains, hidden treasures, and ancient mysteries. Along the way, you'll meet memorable allies and dangerous foes while exploring a vibrant corner of the Forgotten Realms filled with history, intrigue, and opportunity. ⛰️ Exploration and Discovery Adventure lies beyond every winding trail and weathered doorway. Venture into forgotten temples, abandoned mines, ruined fortresses, and long-lost dungeons, each hiding secrets waiting to be uncovered. Exploration rewards curiosity, careful planning, and clever thinking, offering magical relics, hidden lore, and unexpected encounters for those willing to stray from the beaten path. 🔍 Mystery and Investigation Not every challenge can be solved with a sword. The people of Phandalin each have stories to tell, motives to hide, and secrets worth uncovering. Observant players who ask questions, connect clues, and investigate the world around them will often discover new opportunities, hidden dangers, and alternative solutions that might otherwise remain unseen. 🎭 Roleplay at Heart This is a character-driven game where your choices matter just as much as your abilities. Meaningful conversations, difficult decisions, and memorable relationships are at the heart of the experience. I encourage players to embrace their characters' personalities, ideals, flaws, and goals, creating moments that feel genuine and rewarding. Those who actively engage with the world and bring their characters to life will find the story responding in kind. ⚔️ Meaningful Combat Every battle serves a purpose within the narrative. Some encounters test your tactical skill, others challenge your resource management, and a few may force difficult moral decisions. Victory isn't always guaranteed, and rushing headlong into danger can carry lasting consequences. Teamwork, creativity, and strategy are often just as valuable as a powerful weapon or spell. 🗺️ Cinematic Presentation The world comes alive through immersive presentation. Official module maps enhanced in Foundry VTT, carefully selected music, atmospheric sound effects, dynamic lighting, and vivid narration work together to create memorable scenes. Whether you're descending into forgotten ruins, standing before a looming fortress, or sharing a quiet conversation in a bustling tavern, every moment is presented with the goal of making you feel like you're living inside the story. 📜 Campaign Listing: If you'd like to read the full campaign details, character creation guidelines, house rules, and reserve your seat, you can find everything here: https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmrdy1gb300gok204lq1k7t7h?ref=cmjkeghcz002oif042ddtkai4 Any questions or interested in joining? "You arise from the ashes that were once your body, to be greeted by the crimson hue of the sky..." Hello! I am a somewhat experienced GM looking for players for a one-shot (with the potential to turn into a full campaign if the group clicks). It is based on my own universe and magic system, running on the Fate Core ruleset. This game is highly narrative-driven in a meta-sense. You will play as literal "Drafts" traveling through the Wastelands—an ever-shifting dimension where unfinished stories and concepts are sent after being discarded by God. In the Wastelands, you can expect to find grand mechanical structures reminiscent of games like Rain World, while at the same time stumbling across Edo-period villages or fields of vibrant blue grass. Some comparative titles and themes to help you get a feel for the vibe are: Fear & Hunger • Dark Souls • Ultrakill • Jujutsu Kaisen • Serial Experiments Lain • Gnosticism • Divine Machinery Aesthetics You will start by choosing an Emanation (beings we commonly call Gods, though they are more like embodiments of concepts) from a list. You must choose solely based on their name, not what they represent. You will discover their true nature later. You will write an unfinished story of up to 500 words based on the Emanation you chose. That story will be the essence of your character. Your Draft may be the main character of that story, someone tormented by its themes, a human, a non-human, whatever your imagination wants. Each Draft has a "Pure Essence." If I had to draw a parallel, it functions similarly to a Cursed Technique in JJK. It is the innate, signature ability of your Draft. In-game it will work as a Stunt. I heavily prioritize narrative and character development over combat. There will frequently be options to enter combat, but it won't be necessary most of the time. This will be a game focused on roleplay and sandbox exploration, featuring a main quest-giver and several secondary quests that the group may choose to ignore or partake in. Note: Some of the themes included in the game may be sensitive. We will have a thorough safety and boundaries discussion before playing to ensure everyone is comfortable. If all of this interests you, please send a message on here. We will use Discord to call and Owlbear if I decide to use maps but it will likely be a Theater of the Mind game. Schedule: 11 am Sunday

Inspired by the Sims 3 iykyk, Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines, and D20. This is my first time with the system so noobs are super welcome to come learn with me! Want to do session zero/character creation over zoom as like an unofficial interview xx

The Last Night: Skindeep Setting Website: https://www.worldanvil.com/w/the-last-night-bald-elf-bard Looking for 1 player for a 10–15 session sci-fi horror story. Welcome to The Last Night, a sci-fi horror TTRPG about fear, hope, dread, regret, victory, revulsion, and relief. The world is dying, and most people have learned to look away. Governments lie, obscure, and distort to keep people in line. Monsters stalk the shadows. Demons wear human suits and spread corruption. You still have a choice. Choose hope or fall to despair. In Skindeep, you and a few unlucky others will find yourselves stranded on an island gone mad. Creatures, mutants, rogue machines, and things that used to be human are hunting you. Some want to kill you. Some want to study you. Some want to see what you are made of, literally. Find allies. Find shelter. Find a way off the island. Reach out if this interests you. Please introduce yourself and tell me why you love RPGs. Game Stats System: The Last Night, a custom PbtA-style sci-fi horror game Format: Online Players Wanted: 1 player. We currently have 3 players and are building a group of 4. Campaign Length: 10–15 sessions Session 0: July 12th (you'll need time to get settled and learn the game) Game Day: Sundays, 11am–3pm Pacific Schedule Note: We may skip some weeks to accommodate player schedules. Tone: Sci-fi horror, survival, investigation, body horror, desperate hope Focus: Character choices, exploration, danger, moral pressure, and cinematic horror Experience: Experienced roleplayers preferred. The Last Night may be too much for brand-new players, but new to PbtA is completely fine. The GM will teach you everything. Table Setup We use Foundry VTT for maps, scenes, tokens, and gameplay support. Maps are made with love in Inkarnate, and voice is handled through Discord. The Last Night also has a dedicated setting website with rules and lore, plus a companion app for character creation and in-game tracking. I use curated music playlists through Discord to build mood and atmosphere. Visuals in-game only are supported with AI-art for creatures and assets that are unique to The Last Night. Other visuals are produced with Inkarante and Heroforge. If some use of AI-art is a deal break, no need to reach out :) What I'm Looking For I'm looking for a player who enjoys horror, atmosphere, character choices, and tense survival stories. You do not need to know the setting ahead of time. The game is built so you can discover the world through play. Please make a character who wants to survive, can work with others, and still has some reason to care. Content Notes This game may include body horror, monsters, mutation, violence, paranoia, corrupt systems, unethical experiments, and frightening situations. The goal is horror and tension, not misery for its own sake. Characters can suffer, struggle, and make terrible choices, but hope matters in The Last Night.

AMERICA HAS FALLEN. THE WASTES AWAIT. The year is 2024. The world ended in a matter of weeks. First came the undead pouring out of Eastern Europe. Then came Operation PEACE—a brutal, systemic plot by global powers to betray, enslave, and exterminate the world's demi-human population. As the military turned on its own demi-human soldiers, lines folded, and America crumbled. On July 4th, 2023, Washington, D.C. was reduced to rubble. Now, in the zombie-infested marshlands of Atlantasia County, Louisiana, the survivors fight for what's left. Which side will you choose? THE FACTIONS The Peacekeepers: A brutal right-wing military junta claiming to be the true heirs to the U.S. They enforce a regime of hatred, killing or enslaving all demi-humans on sight. The NAA (New American Union): A fragile wartime coalition of rebels, centrists, and anarchists fighting a total war for freedom against the Peacekeepers. Peacekeeper Reformists: A heavily armed splinter group that rejects the bigotry, believing America can only be reborn through the unification of all survivors—by diplomacy or dominion. Aculon: An authoritarian coastal empire that believes the American identity is dead and buried, aiming to build something entirely new. The Raiders: Lawless, selfish bands plundering the wastes. BRUTAL SOULS-LIKE SURVIVAL Actions have permanent consequences here. We feature a high-stakes death mechanic: 1st Death: A freebie. A narrow escape, a heavy scar, and a lesson learned. 2nd Death: PERMADEATH. If you fall again, your character is gone for good. Choose your battles wisely. WHAT WE OFFER Complete Character Freedom: Play as a human survivor or any type of anthro demi-human you can imagine. Fair & Balanced Gameplay: To keep things fair for everyone, demi-human status is purely cosmetic and roleplay-focused—there are no mechanical buffs. Active, Dedicated GMs: Our team is constantly brewing up new enemies, fresh narrative storylines, and custom equipment/loot to discover. Combat to Cozy: Balance brutal zombie survival and political war with deep slice-of-life roleplay. Build up your camp, form bonds, start romances, and find moments of peace amidst the chaos. Text-Based RP & Sessions: A welcoming text-RP community with organized homebrew TTRPG mechanics. MATURE CONTENT WARNING (18+) This is a STRICTLY 18+ SERVER. Because of the dark, gritty nature of the wasteland, our roleplay features heavy, mature themes. This includes violence, gore, dark lore, and erotic subjects/sexual content (ERP). Age-gating/verification may apply upon entry. Interested in surviving the wastes? Jo

Hello everyone! We are looking for 2 more players to try out the game "Vaesen" by Nils Hintze (Free League Publishing). https://freeleaguepublishing.com/games/vaesen/ Most of us will be playing it for the first time so no worries if you are not familiar with the game or system. I am organising this campaign in a discord server. It will be played via a mix of voice calls and slower "play by post" via chat whenever players are unavailable.  The timezone for most players is UTC +1/2 (Western Europe). Sessions will likely be organised during weekend afternoons/evenings or Wednesdays and Thursdays after 18:30 CET if scheduling allows. What we are looking for: - Players that are ok with typing out and reading longer paragraphs of text. As some of the game will be played "by post" it is preferable for players to write longer messages and contribute to the worldbuilding and the story. - 18+. No NSFW is intended but all of us are in our mid to late 20s - Bonus points if you have played this game, or a game with the Year Zero Engine before. If you would like to join us, please write a few sentences saying why you are interested in the game/setting and how you fit the criteria above.

The Night Is Not One City

The Night Is Not One City (*The Coast After Dark* and *The Dark of Port Azalea*) **Chronicle Description:** Along the northern Gulf Coast, the night moves through ports, casinos, churches, parade routes, funeral homes, refineries, and black water. From Mobile, Alabama to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, survival is not merely a matter of feeding, it is a matter of access, reputation, and who controls the artery before hunger reaches you. The Dark of Port Azalea explores Mobile, Alabama: a city of masks, haunted history, imported blood, and fragile performance. The Camarilla maintains authority through lineage, salons, and ritualized order while the Anarchs answer with spectacle, nightlife, and defiance. Beneath both lies the same dependency: Mobile cannot sustain its dead alone. The Coast After Dark expands outward into the Mississippi Gulf Coast, a corridor of rival domains including Biloxi, Gulfport, Ocean Springs, Pascagoula, Gautier, Pass Christian, and D’Iberville. These cities are bound together beneath the fragile authority of the Council of Twilight, where power is curated through prestation, surveillance, fear, and carefully maintained appearances. Together, both chronicles form a connected Gulf Coast World of Darkness where: •    Blood is economy •    Status is performance •    Hunger is politics •    Reputation travels •    Borders matter •    Every ally is leverage •    Every enemy keeps receipts Whether you are a neonate navigating feeding rights, or a Kindred simply trying to survive the pressure of the system itself, this is a story-driven exploration of ambition, horror, politics, and consequence within the World of Darkness. **Rules:** We use Vampire: the Masquerade (V5) with thematic house rules tailored toward immersive storytelling, political tension, and consequence-driven play. The game balances literate, text-based roleplay with dice mechanics where needed. **Logistics** **Medium:** Play-by-post via Discord. **Time:** Open and asynchronous players engage in scenes at their convenience while contributing to a living, evolving chronicle world. **Players:** Open to all! Whether you are new to V5 and looking for guidance or an experienced player seeking layered political and character-driven horror, there is a place for you along the Gulf. **Applications:** [Step into Mobile.](<https://discord.gg/XF7NewPV>) [Step onto the Coast.](<https://discord.gg/w29ZXyb8PP>) Staff positions available The night is not one city. It is a coastline. Come prepared to hunt carefully, speak intentionally, balance your debts, and survive the pressure of a world already in motion.

@TCB Games & Collectibles. 656 Eastern Blvd Clarksville, IN Party of 4-6 1st level characters; point buy for stats June 13th 1pm. DnD 5e 18+ DM: @wonkav8 (Brian) $5 entry fee The group is venturing home to Vallaki after escorting musicians back to Skald in Kartakass after their performance at the season festival. A local there advised the party take a shortcut through the ancient Red Tear forest to avoid going around the Lake of Red Tears, some nonsense about spooks and nasties and people going missing in the ruins east of the lake. Upon heeding this well intentioned warning, they now find themselves lost in unfamiliar woods and darkness is setting in. Since choosing the less sinister of two trails, the party has felt uneasy as if something has been following them. The farther along the chosen trail they go, the narrower and less travelled the trail looks. Finally, a clearing opens where a dimly lit moss covered cabin sits at the far side of the clearing. A frail looking elderly woman sits on a rocking chair next to a hulking male sitting on a huge stump. The woman stops rocking and waves. In the distance, a howl unlike anything you have ever heard echoes through the forest. The last glimpse of daylight is barely providing any light through the forest canopy. The wave becomes a frantic gesture towards the cabin. Sign up in store at TCB or on our Dscord https://discord.gg/BkZG8g9aC6

Looking for DM – Curse of Strahd Campaign (2 Players) Hi there! My friend Jens and I are looking for a Dungeon Master to run a Curse of Strahd campaign for us. We’re hoping to find a DM who enjoys running a serious, immersive, roleplay-heavy game with strong gothic horror atmosphere and meaningful consequences. We’re both very excited about the setting and are looking for a long-term campaign where story, character development, and party dynamics are central. 👤 About Us Ben (me) 25 years old, based in Europe ~7 years experience with D&D 5e Current DM for a monthly in-person campaign (1+ year ongoing) Previously prepared a Curse of Strahd campaign and fell in love with the setting Experienced with roleplay-heavy, long-form storytelling games Comfortable with serious tone and collaborative storytelling Jens 25 years old A few months of D&D experience Very enthusiastic and eager to learn Especially drawn to dark, gothic fantasy settings Looking to grow his roleplay and system understanding through play 🎭 What We’re Looking For We are looking for a Curse of Strahd campaign that is challenging, We enjoy tension, risk, and meaningful consequences. We would love a DM who enjoys: Roleplay-heavy storytelling A dark, gothic, consequence-driven world Long-term campaign commitment Party-driven narrative development Creative freedom and player-driven choices ⚔️ Desired Gameplay Style / Systems Lethality system: Death is permanent when a character dies, if all characters die the campaign ends. we had the idee to use tashas couldron companion rules a a sort of “extra life” system: Each player begins with 2 companions that can be developed into full player characters when the players main character dies. These act as backup lives. However, they can also die independently, removing those extra survivability layers before the main character dies. Expanded Lingering Injuries system: for this we would like to use the Farlandworld Lingering Injuries by Damage Type. Expanded Indefinite Madness system: for this I have a D100 list. As you can tell we are fully on board for a brutal, gritty, and consequence-heavy experience, and we are actively looking for a DM who enjoys running that kind of game. We’re not looking to “win” Curse of Strahd we’re looking to survive it, suffer through it, and tell a memorable story doing so. No character should be the same after Barovia is done with them... 🧰 Practical Info Availability is during night hours 19:00/20:00 until 23:00/00:00. Discord for voice I know Roll20 but other platforms are fine Stable internet and working microphones System is DND 5e (2014) 🌫️ Final Note if you are a DM who enjoys a challenge wants to dish out curses and run a truly horific Curse of Strahd experience. Then this is the game for you! we’d love to hear from you, please send us your discord and something about yourself so we can conntact you and plan a call. Ben & Jens

Meowdy. I am looking for 1-2 additional players to join an established group as we start a new game. About our group The group currently consists of myself and two other people. I've been playing with them for about a year, but they're part of a small ttrpg discord server that's been together a few years longer. We play different games run by different members of the group from time to time. We play over discord voice chat, and will probably be using roll20 as a vtt. Sessions are weekly on fridays at 7pm EST. Two of us are transfeminine and none of us are straight. We would prefer to play with other gay and trans people. We are also 30+ and would prefer to play with other adults. About the game We are going to be starting a campaign of CAIN, an action-horror game about superpowered paranormal investigators hunting down monsters born from human trauma running off a Forged in the Dark-adjacent dice pool system. If you're not familiar, please take a look at the link to see if it interests you and I can provide a copy of the full book. CAIN is a game that inherently deals with dark and difficult subjects. Safety tools will be in place and there will be room for sillyness, but this game won't be a lighthearted experience. About me as a GM I've been running tabletop games for a very long time and I'm pretty opinionated about them. I tend to run games pretty much by the book, particularly when trying out new systems. I don't really ignore rules on purpose to facilitate cool moments or things like that. I expect everyone at the table to learn the rules of the system and to engage with them to the best of their ability. I like to do voices and will engage in improv acting scenes sometimes, but I don't consider it a necessary part of playing games. I like to maintain a clear separation between player and character. I'll often describe things in third person and summarize what generally happens in an interaction rather than speaking out every individual bit of dialogue. I'm kind of sadistic and like to do mean things to characters for fun. About you If you're interested, please fill out this google form to tell me a bit about yourself and I will be in touch.

The Fallen Statue of the Great Unifier

Horror Horror
No paid games No paid games
"Beneath the sands of a dead empire, something ancient is waking up." The Caluthean Empire ruled this region for thousands of years before it collapsed. What remains are ruins half-swallowed by sand including a massive collapsed monument called the Fallen Statue of the Great Unifier. This is a sandbox campaign centered around a megadungeon! There is a lot to explore amidst the ancient ruins: magical treasures to find, rewards for completing quests, and horrors that lurk in the shadows that must be defeated. The system is Old School Essentials Advanced Fantasy with some elements of AD&D 1st edition. What to Expect: No experience necessary. This is dark fantasy adventure gaming, somewhere between Dying Earth (Jack Vance), The Black Company (Glen Cook) and other Sword and Sorcery, to high fantasy realms like old gray box Forgotten Realms. This game will feature high adventure, exploration, and risks. The game is fast and deadly. The goal is to turn this into a West Marches style game. There is a lot of the world to explore, promising rewards, but the greatest of these lie beneath the ruins of the Fallen Statue... Details: System: OSE Advanced Fantasy Setting: Sajetan, an original world, currently desert-heavy, ancient-empire aesthetic (currently). Schedule: My availability for SESSION 0 is on a Sunday at 11AM CT / 12PM ET / 9AM PT / 5PM GMT / 6PM CET. Once we receive enough players, I will send out the date for that and we can then discuss which days to play weekly. Format: Online via VTT (Discord and Owlbear Rodeo) Experience: No experience required. Familiarity with OSE can help but is not required. Getting Started: Send me a message or contact me on Discord: Maervahr

Most adventures are built for you. Barovia was built to break you. Step into a living, breathing nightmare where your choices actually matter and your mistakes have consequences. This is a high-immersion, open-world campaign where the mists don't wait for you to be "ready." Beneath the looming spires of Castle Ravenloft, Count Strahd von Zarovich rules with a cruelty that has no end. In this sandbox, you are free to explore any corner of the realm, but beware: the world is NOT level-balanced. Survival requires wit, scouting, and the wisdom to know when to run. The Horror Experience: - True Sandbox Freedom: Go where you want, when you want. The world reacts to your presence (and your absence) in real-time. - Lethal Consequences: I utilize Lingering Injuries for critical hits. In this campaign, a lucky strike doesn't just lower your HP, it might leave a scar, a limp, or a broken rib that changes your story forever. - Atmospheric Immersion: Using stunning, high-res maps from DM Andy and Czepeku, fully optimized with Roll20 Dynamic Lighting to ensure every dark corner feels dangerous. Game Details: - System: D&D 5e - Schedule: Mondays at 19:15 CET / 20:15 EET - Session Length: 3 Hours (with a 30-minute extension buffer if needed). - Platforms: Roll20, Discord, and DnDBeyond (Full Content Sharing + Beyond20 integration for seamless, fast-paced play). Pricing & The "Pro" Trial: I believe in "Try Before You Buy." I want you to experience the quality of my table risk-free: - your Sessions 0 & 1 are FREE. - Rate: $20 USD per session via Startplaying.games. What You Are Paying For: - Expert Preparation: I invest in premium resources and adapt the story to weave your character’s fears and flaws into the mists of Barovia. - Reliability & Maturity: A paid table avoids "no-shows" and ensures a committed group of adults dedicated to completing the campaign. - Full Access: Use my complete DnDBeyond library for character creation and enjoy top-tier assets from creators like Mad Cartographer and more. "Before you are given a name to this place, this must first be known: 8 truths remain. They are not given. They are not waiting. They do not wish to be found. He will give you shape. He will give you routine. Do not mistake this for comfort. Be wary of what you accept as real when it has already been assembled and framed. Memory is not as reliable as you may believe. Rooms collapse, doors lead elsewhere, and the mirror reflects only what it must. Memory lies. What you remember is not always what happened, and what you've forgotten has not left. The trauma you carry did not remain behind. It was buried without depth. You will feel it: in the moments that linger too close. In the things you avoid without known reason. In the weight with no name. Morality will not be a line shown to you. You will choose between what is right, what is easy, and what is familiar. Search for the 8 fractures. Gather them, piece by piece. You may even believe to understand what you see. But understand this: reason contradicts. Desire demands to be forgotten. And one will ask you to decide if it was ever real at all. You were not placed here by accident, though accident may be the only explanation you are given. When the 8th truth reveals itself, He will give you everything. You will remember what you were never meant to keep." Yahoo ! I'm Yu (he/they/it), and I offer you a homebrewed campaign made with plenty of fresh beans, Tea Time with Satan. If you're inexperienced no sweat, I'll likely be learning alongside with you. I've played dnd for years but went on a long hiatus starting in highschool and I started back up again a while ago. So, I'm missing quite a bit of knowledge since I'm still newer to the 2024 rules but I'll do my best to keep learning. If you're a more experienced player that's great, I'm open to having someone teach me when needed. This is a PLAY BY POST campaign, meaning it is all TEXT BASED. As said, this is a homebrewn campaign. All npcs are mine, same goes for the locations, lore, world building, etc. All "official" npc art will be by me. I've never been one for scenery but I'll try scheming up drawings for the locations as well. Maps, however, will NOT be by me. I've also crafted up a few mechanics, spells, items, etc. Alternative universes are canon in my world, so you'll have a ton of freedom with your character. I'll veto and tweak what I need to but, other than that, I'm really chill. The very VERY basic premise is this: you wake up in Hell with no memory of how you arrived. You enter a pact with Satan who has you running errands for him. To proceed through the story you need to find all 8 truths and confront Satan about them. If you're missing one or even get a little wrong he sends you right back to your tasks. I'm easily excited so you can expect me to talk to you lots about your character outside of sessions. I also encourage roleplay outside of sessions since 1) roleplay is fun and amazing, and 2) it lets you get more in tune with your character. If there's an npc you want to roleplay with, lmk. That being said, I want my players to be REALLY into their characters, the world, and the game as a whole. So, roleplay with your whole heart and I shall do the same :3 This campaign is VERY LGBTQIA+ friendly, with myself being gay and trans. Majority of the TTwS cast are male, so I wholeheartedly encourage bl in my office. I am a complete sucker for romance, so yes, pretty much every npc is romanceable. As a fervent yaoi enjoyjer, bring on the gay and toxic yaoi (with limitations ofc). Flirting with the dm is highly, HIGHLY encouraged. (Note: "flirting with the dm" is for in-roleplay. It means to flirt with npcs and other characters the dm may play or add.) On the topic of relationships, pc-npc relationships are the focal point of the campaign. This goes in hand with passionate roleplay. If you don't advance your relationship with major npcs then you won't be able to complete the campaign. Play by post takes significantly longer due to different typing and reading speeds, so I ask that, while I love shenanigans, we stay on topic for as long as possible so you can get through the campaign without dragging it out and making it boring. Fast typing is encouraged. I offer solo sessions, and sometimes I'll ask you to schedule a solo session sometime during the week. Solo sessions differ from plain roleplay in that it directly changes what happens in regular sessions, where normal out-of-session roleplay affects very very little. The premise of these solo sessions is usually "\[npc\] would like to hang out." These can be silly hangouts or serious confrontations. You may ask for a solo session as well, if you'd like to buy a weapon you didn't get the chance to during our session, speak to an npc, or explore areas you normally wouldn't have time to during regular play. Solo sessions may also advance campaign plot. During level up, I'll ask if you want to schedule a solo campaign. If you go through with it, you may gain an additional skill/spell, item, etc. Trivia facts will be given at the end of every session. These bits of lore could range from a character's likes/dislikes, to information about a location, to details of a conflict. These could be incredibly important or not at all, that is up to the players. Questions about the given trivia will not be answered. We will be creating our character sheets manually with a fill-in pdf. I'll be there to assist you, of course, and we'll be rolling stats with avrae (unless you'd rather point buy). It's easier for my brain, but if you'd prefer to use something else like dndbeyond, go ahead. Just send me the finished sheet when you're done. We are currently at lvl 8 and we'll be going all the way to 20. Level progression, depending on how well and far the party is, may exceed 20, just to keep things fresh. We will be using discord bots (Avrae and roll20). We will hop onto roll20 for combat but that will be more for battle visuals. This is an 18+ campaign. Trigger warnings include but are not limited to: trauma, depression, anxiety, su/c/de (implied and shown), and gore. There will be no explicit scenes between pc-pc, pc-npc, and npc-npc. All explicit intimacy will fade to black and if you'd like to have smut between your pc and an npc just write a fanfiction about it. If between your pc and another player's pc, please ask for express permission from the involved party (I've been asked about this before so it must be said). Topics such as sa, ped/philia, and homophobia are NOT allowed. If it's part of a backstory, that's okay. Some of the npcs struggle with backstories regarding these topics, but what we will NOT do is glorify nor dwell too long on it. Story telling is a great way to vent and cope and some of my characters reflect that for me in some ways. But we are here to ultimately have fun, so keep that in mind. Don't expect so much comedy from me for I am not a naturally funny person but I enjoy banter, jokes, and shenanigans (be ready for consequences). But I do ask when it gets serious to get serious. Overall, I'll do my best to give you freedom with your character. Expect a fairly lengthy campaign so please make a character you'll enjoy playing and roleplaying with. Session 0 (The Prologue) will be a trial run, so if you're really not vibing with your race, class, spell list, etc., don't sweat we can tweak that and I'll craft up in game lore to explain the change, even if you're a spells-known class. If you end up REALLY hating your character after final tweaks, no sweat, we'll figure it out together. Please please PLEASE plan to be here every session, but I also understand that life sucks and stuff happens. Because of how flexible I'll be regarding characters, we can workshop inserts of your own. If you have a cool quirk for your character you really want to implement, Imk and we'll chat abt it. For example, if your character once dated the god of death, I can slide that into the campaign. I had a player with a pc closely connected to an npc, so if you want more of a role beyond just a player I'll gladly work around it. In the same vein, if you want to see more of something in the campaign (like horror or escape room bits), bring it up with me. I'll be running Fridays @ 9:00pm EDT. PLEASE convert that into your own timezone so you fully understand the scheduling and whether you'll be able to commit or not. Scheduling pings will be sent out the day before and the day of sessions. If you're interested in joining, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/KJT8UY9vVmZ3Scqn6 Please read carefully and understand what's being asked. I will send a friend request via discord to talk further (please ensure your username is correct). You'll be placed on a waiting list otherwise should you not be picked in case someone ends up tapping out.

The Crooked Moon

Horror Horror
"When the moon hangs crooked in the sky, bolt your doors, bank your fires, and never answer a knock after sunset..." The old stories were never just stories. Beyond the safety of the village lanterns lies a cursed wilderness where ancient forests whisper forgotten names, scarecrows watch from empty fields, and every shadow may hide a hungry monster. Witches weave bargains that cost more than gold, werewolves stalk moonlit roads, haunted spirits seek vengeance, and creatures from folklore wait patiently for travelers foolish enough to wander off the path. You are ordinary people—or perhaps something stranger—drawn together by fate, fear, or desperation. As the Crooked Moon rises, you'll uncover terrifying mysteries, face impossible choices, and decide whether you'll become the heroes the villages desperately need... or another cautionary tale told around the fire. This campaign is inspired by dark fairy tales, gothic horror, and European folklore. Expect eerie exploration, unsettling mysteries, dangerous monsters, moral dilemmas, memorable roleplay, and brutal combat where every victory comes at a cost. Your choices will shape the fate of the land, but remember: not every monster has fangs, and not every smiling face can be trusted. Can you survive beneath the Crooked Moon... or will your story become the next legend whispered in the dark?

The Curse of Strahd

Homebrew Homebrew
Horror Horror
I am currently running the infamous Curse of Strahd module and have an opening. I invite you in. The Game— Role-Play, Combat, Exploration:   This game leans into gothic horror and slow-burn tension. Expect moral strain, layered NPCs, and decisions that linger. Humor has a place, but it must live inside the world, not fracture it.   The game is generally balanced, though each session may favor one playstyle or skillset over another based on the choices made. The DM/Storyteller   I grew up playing AD&D but stepped away for several years before returning under the 5e ruleset. I prefer a realistic motif to RPGs.   - Homebrew 5e 2014 & 2024.   - Sunday 1pm - 5/6pm EST   - Looking for Player(s) 30+ The Players:   Players should be 30 years of age or older. In our experience, older players are more likely to make a long-term commitment to the campaign and be respectful of everyone's time and effort. We value reliability, communication, and a collaborative table where everyone can count on one another. We are currently running with one male Fighter type, one male Cleric type, and one female Ranger type. They are currently around level 6.   The right player(s) for this table:   - Engages with the story   - Enjoys existential dread as much as tactical combat   - Thinks beyond their sheet   - Understands that fear, restraint, and consequence are tools, not obstacles   - Can be inventive when the moment calls for it   - Keeps immersion in mind. Knows the difference between Above Table and On Table. Doesn’t Metagame. Requirements: (1) Discord. Voice & Video. (2) Maps. Owlbear Rodeo. (3) D&D Beyond. Build your character. We will create it together but arrive prepared. (4) Google Docs: Read Player Contract (Horror), Homebrew, and the Player Handouts. Agree to the Player Contract. Town Crier:   We will have a Session Zero and possibly a Session 0.5 game to ground your character in the world. The world is the Forgotten Realms. Become familiar with the Sword Coast/Faerun. Your character will start there and enter the Shadowfell/Barovia— the Curse of Strahd, via the Mist. Worry not, whatever you don’t understand now will become clear in time, well translucent at least.

LF1M for homebrew version of CoS

Homebrew Homebrew
Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
Hello my name is Fae. I've been playing dnd since 2015 and I'm an active DM for 8 years now. We have been playing as a group of five, one DM and four players. But unfortunately one of the players is stepping away and we wish to find someone to join us. We play bi-weekly on Saturday from 15:00 till about 20:00 CET Currently we are playing a heavy homebrewed version of CoS and just finished the House of Sorrows (death house) and the PC's just leveled up to level 4. My campaigns are always roleplay heavy with at least 1 combat per session. We play online using DnDBeyond and Roll20 and Discord for VC and keeping track of everything that happens in the campaign. I am a DM who uses a soundboard, imagery and storytelling to sketch the world we are in. I am very player orientated and do not mind bending the rules for your enjoyment. Over the years I have learned how to keep things balanced without sacrificing the fun of the players. I am also always happy to create something unique and custom for your character. Be it magic item, an event in the campaign, or PC specific lore inplementation. So don't be afraid to ask I am also very beginner friendly and welcome players of any and all expertise level Things I have zero tolerance for: - Harassment: zero tolerance for racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or targeted personal insults out of character. - Boundary violations: disregarding established safety boundaries. - Sexual violence: complete ban on depicting, describing, or forcing sexual assault, both in active narrative and character backgrounds. - Unapproved PvP: attacking other party members, stealing from teammates, or casting harmful spells on allies without explicit, out of character consent from all involved parties. - Cheating: modifying character sheets retroactively, or intentionally mistracking resources. (if you wish to change something, just ask) - Tonal sabotage: Bringing joke characters, meme builds, or disruptive behavior into a designated grimdark/horror campaign. (joking among players, or as PC's during the campaign is completely fine and welcome) - Targeted DM hostility: Arguing aggressively against rules interpretations during the session or actively trying to "win" against the DM rather than engaging with the narrative challenges. (come to me after the session, I am very welcoming to feedback) Some of these rules only need to be broken once to get yourself a ban. So please be a respectable person, we are all here just so have some fun and share a laugh while building an epic world together. So what are we looking for: - Someone who loves roleplay, world and character development, and collaborative storytelling. - Someone who respects fellow players' time and commits to the schedule (this doesn't count for emergencies. we are understanding for situations you didn't choose) - Someone who is respectful of others, mindful of table boundaries and manners, and open to communication. - Someone who is excited to collaborate on their backstory and actively engage with the world's secrets. Not a hard requirement: - Preferably 18+, but we can make exceptions for mature teens. - Preferably a woman to balance out the table dynamic. One of our players would appreciate a second female presence in the group, though everyone is welcome to apply. If this sounds like the right fit for you, and you are ready to step into the mists and help us shape this world, shoot me a DM with a bit about yourself. Discord: vailandru tags: dark fantasy, gothic, curses, ancient secrets, prophecy & fate, grimdark, corruption, psychological & survival horror, cryptic lore, dynamic sandbox, puzzles & riddles, custom homebrew, atmospheric, high player agency, lore centric, character driven, roleplay heavy, moral ambiguity, permanent consequences, high lethality, CoS core, and many more!

THE FIRST GAME IS THIS SATURDAY, JULY 11th FROM 1pm-4pm EST, so please get back to me asap so we can make your character on roll20. I'm looking for 3 players to torture...I mean...have tons of fun with, with my take on the legendary Curse of Strahd campaign. I am an LGBTQ friendly DM and will not tolerate bigotry against such groups or racism. You will be safe here, I promise.   What you can expect: The game will be played on Roll20.net, while using a voice channel on discord. If you've never used Roll20, making an account is free. Only I need a paid account for us to get dynamic lighting and all that cool stuff. I built a bot so that I can stream atmospheric music through discord. I enjoy rolling real dice, so feel free to do so instead of using the digital dice. I believe in the honor system...but I mostly just like rolling real dice lol.  I will be using a webcam, but that is absolutely not required. The story is going to be dark, I'm going to hit you with moral dilemmas constantly, but I still expect my players to joke around and not take outcomes personally. I write stories where there's no right answer on purpose. They test your values rather than your problem solving skills.  I'm treating this as a one-shot with the potential to become the campaign because I'm going to run the introductory adventure "Death House" and see if the players gel well and I can build up the nerve to keep going. I'm a brand new DM, so go easy on me.  I'm very open to bending the rules to allow players to do cool things.  Since this is an open world adventure, I'll try to keep multiple plot threads available so you can choose your adventure, but I can't guarantee plot relevant stories, and what will be there may be a little rough around the edges...but, how else will I improve my improv skills? I will also be pulling from another DnD Anthology and inserting 3 modules that I'm currently in the middle of writing. There may be more custom content on the way as well. I have a lot of ideas brewing. This will be free, but if you ever feel like throwing a few bucks my way, I'll give you my cashapp. I'm not going to charge as a brand new DM.

You are dead. Maybe you fell in battle, maybe you were betrayed, or maybe you went out in a flash of foolish glory. Whatever the case, your soul didn't pass on.  Instead, you woke up in the grey, cold expanse of Purgatory alongside six other lost souls. You all want the same thing: a second chance at life. There is only one way out, and the Arbiter of this realm has laid out the terms. To win back your mortality, you must hunt down, defeat, and usurp the Seven Deadly Sins. But there’s a catch. To destroy a Sin, someone must become it. As you slay them, one of you must absorb their mantle, inheriting terrifying cosmic power... and the corrupting curse that comes with it. Only when all seven Sins are claimed will the gateway to the living world open. 🏛️ Campaign Details System: D&D 5e (with heavy homebrew mechanics for the Sins) Platform: [e.g., Roll20 / Foundry VTT / Theater of the Mind] Voice/Comms: [e.g., Discord (Mic required)] Schedule: [e.g., Weekly on Fridays at 7 PM EST] Tone: Dark fantasy, roleplay-heavy, psychological, high-stakes. 👁️ What I’m Looking For Because this campaign relies on exactly seven players, I am looking for a very specific, dedicated group. Roleplayers First: This game is driven by your characters' backstories, regrets, and how they handle the corrupting influence of the Sins. Team Players: Seven players is a large group. You must be excellent at sharing the spotlight, listening to others, and keeping combat moving efficiently. Maturity: The campaign deals with dark themes (death, human flaws, morality). Respect for safety boundaries and fellow players is mandatory. 📝 How to Apply If you want to fight for your rebirth, please reply or DM me with the following: 1. Name/Pronouns & Age: 2. Your D&D Experience: (Beginners are welcome, but you must be willing to learn quickly!) 3. A Teaser Character Concept: Who were they? How did they die? What is the one reason they are willing to go through hell to change their fate? 4. The Temptation: Out of the Seven Sins (Pride, Greed, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath, Sloth), which one do you think your character is most vulnerable to inheriting? 5. Your Discord Handle:

I'm new to VtM V5, and I want to play my first game. It'll be my first time as a storyteller, so I may not know everything, but I'll study enough to keep the sessions going. Ideally, the sessions will be weekly every Monday or Wednesday at 5pm EST. I'm open to playing a modern setting with a split between combat and role play sessions. Horror Horror

Hello, I am looking a person to fill into an ongoing Season of Ghosts campaign for the Pathfinder 2e System! It is a heavy downtime, horror-mystery style campaign revolving around the small haunted town of Willowshore. We have so far completed around a quarter of it so far. We are relatively new to Pathfinder 2E, with some members being newer than others. We play weekly, but with an odd schedule of 5 to 7 days between games. Next game would be Tuesday and after that either Sunday or Monday, for example. We play at 18h15/19h15/20h15 (West/Central/Eastern Europe time) on weekdays and at 15h/16h/17h (WEST/CEST/EEST) on Sundays. We do not play Saturdays because I have another ongoing campaign I DM on Saturdays. We play using Discord Voice Chat and on FoundryVTT. Session length is usually upwards of two hours and a half. We utilize Ancestry Paragon, Free Archetype and a nerfed/homebrew version of Starfinder's Skill Paragon ruling. Feel free to reach out and ask further questions if you want.

Horror Horror
using dnd 5e 2014 A homebrew setting with some homebrew-related features. game will be run sundays around 5pm EST ----------------- Set in a high fantasy world where, contrary to the forgotten realm's lore, Giants and Dragons never waged war against one another, and thus were never reduced to a shadow of their former selves; and where humanoid races were guided by powerful magical creatures, being granted a continent of their own to rule by the name of Lynn. Planar powers have a strong presence in the world as they fight for dominancy of the spiritual world of the ethereal plane, or as they try to form cults or spiritual followings to gain power over others. High-level magic is rare in humanoid hands in the prime material but can be found in many forms or in magical items. Ages ago, the world was created by a giant and dragon god whose children inherited it from them. Rules were set, and empires were formed. No major conflicts would lead to disaster, as they each had lands to call their own. Once, the humanoid races appeared across the planet, suddenly with no written history by any race as to how they even came to be, no gods or other powerful being claimed their creation, leading to the greater magical beings to guide the races they found themselves with in their primitive states. Many centuries of guidance with many new humanoid races forming due to planar interactions, the gods granted the humanoids a land of their own, Lynn. The lands of Lynn once were home to the world's humanoid races, who were gifted it by the giant and dragon gods so they may have the ability to rule themselves apart from the giant and dragon races. 60 years prior to the party coming to the lands, a calamity befell the land with 40-foot gates to the elemental planes opening all over the land, each releasing a massive burst of energy relating to the plane they opened to, leading to mass destruction. The elemental plane of fire's gate opened in the center of the capital of the human empire in the center of the continent, leading to its collapse as a wave of fire and explosive force leveled miles around the gate. The nobles who survived escaped to the south coast due to the lack of any deadly gate openings, leading to the creation of the city of Hope. One prime gate exists per plane, which can not be closed by any means, even with the gods' assistance, with many other smaller gates appearing anywhere in the land but never a certain distance from the prime gate. --------- **warning this will be a smaller focused campaign to get my DM mojo back after my break from dming. aiming for at least level 3-8 maybe more if the players want. also using my homebrew for this game.** This campaign shall be centered around survivors finding themselves in the shadowfell version of Lynn having few memories with all sharing a memory of the distant sunny sky and a gentle breeze being the main drive of returning to the normal world. Every player will be allowed to choose from an undead race in my homebrew from zombies or wights to name a few. You awaken to find yourselves in a mineshaft in makeshift holding cells of iron with their doors unlocked. Silence fills the mineshafts but in the distance you hear the moans of the dead. --------- While the setting might be bleak and dark by no means does the players characters. Expect dark tones but not all doom and gloom. Homemade maps created with inkarnate(i do my best) and a updated homebrew doc that i prio players feedback. I am not allowing homebrew classes unless approved but i have a distain for non subclass homebrews. races are up to review. While the game will be centered around the undead filled realm of the shadowfell you may play as a non undead however depending on your choice you might have it rougher. I have a handout with some homebrew races and features you may also select from, including some changes to spells and mechanics, such as a necromancy rework. We will be using a custom point buy system, and during the course of the game, you may find ways to increase stat caps through things such as rituals. **Warning. Subjects including slavery and gore/undead will be explored.** I'm aiming for a group that is roleplay-centered, and I encourage my players to interact with the world and the people around them. For this reason, I will work with you to create a character that fulfills your roleplay themes, be it planar law bringers to even, but not limited to, Demongolists, Fey creatures/servants of Fey, Trogyldtes, or elementalist. New players are welcome. you must be 18 or older to apply.(i dont ask for ID just an honor system. The party will be starting at 3rd level, and the following levels will be gained via milestones. You also get a free starting feat, and **multiclassing will not be allowed.** Elves do not exist in this world We will be using Discord for voice, no use of D&D Beyond, and all sheets, as well as battle maps, will be hosted on Roll20. AI isn't allowed for any character creation process(art is allowed) Aiming to create a hangout space for people to play games and chat outside of game time.

Looking for one player for the Between TTRPG

Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
LGBTQ+ friendly LGBTQ+ friendly
Hi all! My name’s Arian(she/her) and I’m looking for 2 players to play the Between ttrpg. There are 2 more players in the group and we’ve had like 3 sessions. I’m looking for more players because of scheduling issues. I’d like to run weekly sessions, even if some of the players are missing. I’m aiming for a short season of 12 or so sessions. What is the Between? It’s a game where you play as monster hunters in Victorian-era London. You will learn about various threats in the city and try to neutralize them, in one way or the other. But it seems that there’s a mastermind behind the curtains who’s seeking to bring the Crown to its knees. The Between is directly inspired by Penny Dreadful tv show, as well as other British horror media. The Between is a powered by the apocalypse game, but the mystery element is inspired by Brindlewood Bay game which means there’s no set solution to any mystery and we will be making up theories and rolling to see if they’re correct or not. Please make sure you’re ok with that. The Between is a game that is quite dark. We will absolutely be using Lines and Veils, but dark themes such as body horror, dark sexual themes, murder of children and animals, blasphemy, witchcraft, foul language are part of the game and can’t be avoided. Day and time: 7 pm GMT + 5 Saturday. Please be sure to check that you’re ok with the time. Where: discord for voice, roll20 for everything else. It will be theatre of the mind, mostly. Session lengths: 3 hours, give or take. Weekly. Tone of the campaign: serious, with minimal jokes and humour. The Between’s PCs are moody, intriguing and torn by their mysterious past. Absolutely no bigotry or hate will be tolerated from any players. This game is lgbt+ inclusive and I’m queer myself.  Who am I? I’m 34, I’m passionate about fantasy and sci-fi books and games of all kinds! Also I paint a lot. English isn’t my first language, so that’s something you need to be aware of. I love ttrpgs since I love making up stories with cool people and I’ve been playing since 2020.  Who am I looking for? Please be 20+. You don’t have to be familiar with the system, we’ll learn together, but please be interested in learning. Please be ready to commit to these 12 or so sessions. Life happens and it’s ok, but if you know you won’t be able to make it to games consistently, it won’t be a game for you. I’d like to play with people who actively want to create stories with others and don’t just wait to be entertained. In the Between, you’ll need to actively narrate the Unseen scenes, set up your own scenes and narrate your scenes from the past, so you’ll have to be ok with that.

Sci-Fi/Horror Paranormal Investigation In '90s Seattle Hi there! I am putting together a game about investigating paranormal threats to humanity on behalf of a mysterious organization, in the vein of The X-Files, BPRD, the SCP Foundation, and the Southern Reach trilogy. I have three decades of ttrpg experience mostly running Call of Cthulhu, WoD, D&D (2e & 5e), and Feng Shui.  I will be running this in Delta Green, the modern day spin-off of Call of Cthulhu, but will not be using the Cthulhu mythos lore that is the usual backdrop of Delta Green. The tone will still be dark, but a little lighter than Delta Green's default "apocalyptically dark."  You do not need to have experience with Delta Green or Call of Cthulhu, but please be mature enough to deal with descriptions of violence, crime, mental illness, and other staples of supernatural horror.  Live sessions will be held on occasional weekends via Owlbear Rodeo. Much of the game will be ran directly on Discord. This will be writing-intensive, if you can't enjoy typing a paragraph and just want to roll dice & move mice this might not be the game for you. The game setting will be Seattle in the 1990s; investigating spooky goings-on amongst the misty forests, thriving music scene, and internet start-ups.  If this interests you, let's talk! This is my first time using this platform so be patient with me.

Horror Horror
The nights seem to never end as occupants of these accursed landscapes suffer in darkness. The people of Tepest pray to the Mother for a merciful Tithe. The survivors of Falknovia brave an unending hoard of undead and eachother. The scientists of Lamordia create their own monsters as they twist and pervert the natural world. The dread domains offer no respite to the those of feeble will. Can you survive? Seeking 5 players for a horror centric campaign spanning the Dread Domains. Players will traverse through several hostile lands, each posing a different and horrific threat. I hope to find players who seek to build characters with emotional depth and add to a collaborative narrative in a meaningful way. Players who will fully immerse themselves in the horror setting, allowing their characters to feel desperate, terrified, and lost but still, for one reason or another, hardy enough to fight on. As a nonbinary Latina, I prioritise making my games a safe space for the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC community . Full transparency, I see a safe space for these communities as a space filled with staunch advocates and allies. This goes double as this game will ask players for a level of vulnerability that others must respect. If advocating for these groups isn’t a meaningful part of your identity then you need not apply. Additional note, no part of my game will include generative AI. I think to use AI in any capacity for TTRPGs is disrespectful to the writers, designers, and artists who put lifetimes worth of effort, skill, and craftsmanship into creating this community. Not to mention to socio-ecological harm of AI either. I will also not allow AI to be used for character tokens or any other reasons. Everything in my game will be made with human craftsmanship for better or worse This game will start players at level 3 and we’ll play until level 5. We’ll play weekly, three days on and one day off. I try to level up players at least every 10 sessions. As of now I see this game running for a max of  8 months, in which time we’ll either continue with the same characters or try something else. Please submit your application here. Thanks in advance for any who take the time to apply!

Abyssal Frontiers: Firewalkers

Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
Hey everyone, due to some unexpected circumstances, I'm looking for 2 more players to join a custom, rules-lite, and extremely roleplay heavy system I’ve been working on for a while now. This is not a “test-it-out” campaign as it is closer to a full-length (~15-20 sessions campaign) game. We usually play on Sundays every week starting around 10.00 PST. We play entirely on Discord. The system is extremely light in terms of combat. The rules on combat, and perhaps in general, are only there to give certain decisions or actions some weight or a clear result. The game is set in an alternate history Y2K with heavy biopunk and cyberpunk themes clashed with the paranormal. To be more specific, the game is set in an almost completely industrialized Nunavut. “Where the skyline scrapes the stars while soviet era block buildings are left to crumble into the ground.” This is a relatively darker and broodier campaign sprinkled sparsely with dry humor. Some hard topics such as bigotry, terminal diseases, body horror, and harm to children will be discussed throughout the campaign, though I will handle it with utmost care. This is also a 18+ game, some sexual topics might be mentioned but there will be a hard line against directing outright action from GM to players, players to other players, or players to NPC. There may be some raunchy joke here and there, but generally we will not be focusing on the topics of sex or anything remotely sexual. In more details about the setting, Nunavut has turned into clusters of sprawling oil cities. People have discovered magic and technology of the internet, weaving them both into an extremely robust tech-boom period. At the same time, the nuclear-scare got out of hand due to several nukes being dropped throughout major cities in the world during the early cold-war (called the 3rd World War in this setting) so fossil fuel usage runs rampant. The city you are in, Liebknecht, named after an old German revolutionary, is home to several corporation indoor "nest" which is about 300-400 stories tall and 10-20 kilometers diameter structure. Outside of the nests lies the old ruins and coal mines from soviet era which are home to people who can't afford to live within, or at any better places. There's also the city itself which is a relatively "normal" city built entirely on a cement-and-steel platform over the ice. The city borders the Hudson Bay to the east, which in this setting is rich with oil and natural gas. The premise of the game can be summarized as “You lost memories of the past 1-3 months and now you need to face the past, when you weren’t in control of your character. Your goal is to get back to where you need to be and reconcile with whatever happened the last few months.” The game has already started and we just finished session 1, nothing much has happened outside of generally introducing the character to the premise. If you were to join, your character will be introduced relatively smoothly though with some prior mini-story leading up to how they were found by the rest of the crew. Other things I might not have mentioned: 1. I have a hard rule against usage of generative AI in any steps of the game, including character creation. Character art is not required in the slightest, and having none is far more preferable than using Gen AI to make one. 2. Expect this to be a moderate investment of your time. Please mull it over a bit before asking to join since leaving mid-game will be quite hectic. 3. We are only using voice chat, no need for camera, but a microphone is a must. 4. You will need to be free for a bit this week leading up to the next scheduled session time (May 31st) for character creation purposes.

Interest check for an Iron Lung oneshot!

Homebrew Homebrew
Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
As the title suggests, I'm interested to see if there's any, well, interest in an Irong Lung inspired game. I saw the movie a few months back and fell headfirst into hyperfixation and started mapping out a oneshot for 2-3 players that would create their own convicts that would be welded within a doomed ship. Unfortunately, life got busy and I stopped working on the idea. HOWEVER! After watching Project Hail Mary and getting a dose of that good ol' patron saint of one way trips, I kind of had the urge to work on it again, but acknowledge that I still have a LOT to build/write out. So before I invest all that time and energy, I wanted to see if any folks would actually be interested.  For those not familiar with the game/movie, below is a little exposition/lore dump for you: *In this universe, humans have already explored a lot of space, colonizing many planets, with the first being Mars, holding a base called Eden. However, in 2349 A.D., an unexplainable cosmic event occurred. Known as The Quiet Rapture, where all planets and celestial bodies just quietly disappeared, with all life forms on it. The only things to survive were the people who inhabited man-made space stations, with a collective of less than 1,000 humans and two opposing groups remaining.* *One group of space stations is known as the Consolation of Iron, the C.O.I, while the other is a space ship inhabited by Eden's population. An important note here; Eden is in possession of the very last tree in the universe.* *However, due to a lack of resources from the planets disappearing, Eden and C.O.I fell into conflict as each group struggles to prosper in a rapidly dwindling world. This conflict culminates with Eden targeting one of C.O.I's larger bases called Filament Station, which resulted in a nine day all-out war, only ending when Eden sabotaged Filament's reactor, creating a critical breach, leaving Filament uninhabitable.* *You were a member of Eden, caught as a prisoner of war, and you are now in the hands of the C.O.I.* *You, as convicts, have been welded shut into a poor excuse of a submarine, forced to explore the ocean of a moon referred to as AT-5, taking pictures of Points of Interest (P.O.I's) for scientific research. However, this moon's oceans are made of blood.* *After the Quiet Rapture, four moons with blood oceans suddenly appeared, and you are plunged into the depths of AT-5.* *And if you take the pictures in spots C.O.I wants, they will grant you your freedom. That is the deal. If you get the job done, you'll be free.*

Campaign Name: Danger at Gravehill System: D&D 5e VTT/Platform: Owlbear Rodeo & Discord (Mic is required, webcam is optional) GM: Jareen2 (me) Allowed Content: Basic D&D content, Criticall Role content, If you want homebrew or further third party content, message me to see if I allow it Not allowed content: Homebrew/third party content (unless discussed with me), Custom Lineage, Subclasses that focus on Necromancy About me: I am an experienced Dungeon Master looking for people to join me in my self-written adventure of “Danger at Gravehill”. I have been playing D&D since August 2020 and running D&D since November the same year. This campaign is relative beginner friendly as we do have already two experienced players (me and the other player). And we are more then happy to explain where needed. It has some horror themes to it so be aware of it. Player count: 4/5 Story: Gravehill is a quite peaceful town that has been run by Lord Bucksly and his wife. There is nothing really unique about the town. Although it does have a great yearly market with lots of stuff to sell. Maybe you just want to grab a pint in The Laughing Donkey, maybe you want to buy some cheese or just if your invited attend one of Lord Bucksly many parties. But this time you guys are not here for that. Strange stuff happened on graveyard on the hill that gave this town its name. People claim to see strange stuff and people who did go there never returned. So Lord Bucksly is getting kind of paranoid as people start to flee the town and it will ruin his image. So he send 4-5 brave adventurers 4-5 letters to meet him in his manor as soon as possible! Starting Time: Sunday at 8pm CET/CEST (GMT+1/GMT+2) Session Length: 2-3 hours on average. Starting Level: 3 Stats: Rolled (with proof to DM) Starting Items: Standard Starting Equipment Don't play if your sensitive to: Necromancy, Undead, Death, Murder, also note. I did use AI for character token art for NPC because I lacked budget to get custom art made to match my vision. Further questions can be asked via my discord
