D&D Beyond

Overview

D&D Beyond is the official digital toolset for
Dungeons & Dragons https://groupfinder.eu/library/dungeons-dragons-55e-2024
, originally launched in 2017 and acquired by Wizards of the Coast in 2022. It serves as the primary ecosystem for the 5th Edition ruleset and the updated 2024 "5.5e" core rules. In 2026, the platform is undergoing a massive "Game Platform" rebuild, moving away from its original hard-coded architecture to a data-driven engine. This allows the platform to support more complex customization and the new "Season" based content release model introduced this year. Description D&D Beyond is the definitive "companion app" for D&D. It combines a high-speed character builder, a digital library of all official sourcebooks, and a native 2D virtual tabletop called Maps. The platform is designed to be the easiest way to play the game, handling all calculations, spell slots, and inventory management automatically. With the 2026 "Season of Horror" and "Season of Magic" updates, it has become a living platform that delivers monthly content drops and themed community events directly to player character sheets. System Overview & Key Features
The 2026 Game Engine Rebuild Wizards of the Coast is currently rebuilding the backend of D&D Beyond from the ground up. This move allows the site to finally support highly requested features like custom classes, complex homebrew non-magical equipment, and more responsive rules validation that doesn't rely on legacy code from 2017.
The Maps VTT The integrated 2D virtual tabletop is now free for all users to host games as of late 2025. It features "Quickplay Maps" for all official adventures, allowing GMs to launch a session with pre-placed tokens and fog of war. New "Reveals" functionality lets GMs share high-resolution gallery art and monster lore directly to players' screens during play.
New "Quickbuilder" Flow To improve onboarding, the 2026 character builder features an "art-forward" Quickbuilder mode. It guides players through the most impactful decisions—like subclass and background—while using optimized defaults for smaller details, allowing a new hero to be ready for play in under five minutes.
Content Sharing (Master Tier) The Master Tier subscription remains the most popular for groups. It allows a single user to share their entire digital library—including the new 2026 Ravenloft: The Horror Within and Arcana Unleashed books—with up to 12 players across five different campaigns.
Legacy vs Core Toggles Following community feedback, the platform now features robust toggles to enable or disable "Legacy" (2014) content. This ensures that groups can choose to stick strictly to the 2024 rules or mix in older subclasses and spells without the interface becoming cluttered or confusing.
Digital/Physical Integration Most new 2026 book releases now feature a "Physical + Digital" bundle. When you buy a hardcover from the official store, you receive an instant unlock code for D&D Beyond, ensuring your character builder and digital library are updated before the physical book even arrives in the mail.

If you believe you'll find joy and happiness here... turn away now. Because only what you'll find is darkness, despair and fear. Fear of losing your loved ones, fear of losing your friends... fear of losing yourself. The fog chokes the roads, the coulds lock away the sun, and every last bit of humanity got tied and burned at the stake. Many have lost their lives... don't be like one of them... turn away, and never come here again. Greetings! I am Vick, and I am Game Master for this Curse of Strahd Revamped Campaign. This is a modified version of CoS, with additions and improvements to make it feel much more darker, grittier and horrific. I am looking for 5 souls, willing to dive deep into this madness, and perhaps solve why this place is so rotten. Beware: This is a serious and grim campaign. While there will be humour, understand that this campaign will go to deep end to make the story feel tragic, dark and utterly grim. Requirements: Age - 18+ Timezone - GMT/UTC We will be using Discord VC, D&D Beyond and Theatre of a Mind  Now, to apply.. either message me here, or hit me up on Discord @hthnxulfr

DnD. DM looking for the players (16-18+)

Homebrew Homebrew
Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
WEEKDAYS ONLY Day & time are decided by a group. Most of people will probably play between 16:00 – 21:00 (GMT+0) Played in Discord voice chat A lot of people that wanted to play, but later they went passive/ignore mode. Please, message only if you are going to play, don't make other players wait Discord nickname: weebseatshit *PREMISE* You are dragged into a dangerous encounter together with other unlucky ones. Now you are bonded whether you want it or not. Since you are a witness, some people want you dead, watch your back(s) & trust no one It's a Forgotten Realms based, custom (homebrew) campaign with an emphasis on story, characters & adventures, without levels & stats. "Theatre of the Mind" playstyle (means no VTT) I checked all classes & there are a lot of, in my opinion cheating spells. So i'd like, NOT INSIST, that every player has his own, custom spells. Though there are some nice spells in an original DnD. A player can have up to 20 spells from the start A player should choose a class that is the closest to his preference & then create spells/abilities. If a player can't, i'll help I'd like every player to be equally powerful Only these races are allowed: Human, Elf (Moon, Wood), Dwarf, Goliath, Tiefling (Purple, Pink, Blue), Tystling (a human with cat ears (& eyes)) These classes aren't allowed: Artificer, Barbarian, Monk, Psion d20 roll results: Dungeon Master sets a number in an RNG & decides what success number a player should roll Spells don't need mana or d20 roll to be cast, they only cooldown, but if a player is gonna spam spells, i'll Elfen Lied him or put some shit like Leo Bonhart from Witcher that will equalize/balance him *COMBAT* When combat starts, characters & their enemies roll for initiative to decide who goes first (the one with the biggest number, then decreasing or as Dungeon Master decides) If it's a tie result, reroll To choose a target for an enemy, Dungeon Master sets a number in an RNG To attack, character & other character(s) roll d20. If attacker's number is bigger, he deals damage. If attacker's number is less, a defending character dodges. A defending character can perform a counterattack, but if he fails, he receives damage To defeat (wound) a character: • Character must receive damage a certain amount of times • With any possible way I'll describe locations, looks, with little to no details. So, when a player is for example in a forest, search for "DnD forest artstation" or "forest artstation" & ambient Just like with the books, i'd prefer that player imagined his own stuff (& because there may be an info that player may not get or just ignore)

Hello! I am completely new to this type of games but very excited to learn and play!! I'm 25yo girl, shy at first but warm up quickly to nice people ^^ . English is not my first language but I like to think that I'm proficient enough for tabletop rpgs. I think of myself as creative and imaginative, a little bit of humor and a little bit of whimsy. Ymmi
Anyway, hello, I am Ymmi. A 26 year old from the United Kingdom.  I am not gonna do a lengthy intro like i was writing before, i will give you some quick notes about me Likes:  - Videogames, Anime, Youtube (Average chronically online people things) - Animals (My number 1 is the red panda, and basically everything in the Musteloidea family)  TTRPGs: - I have experience in both PF2e and D&D5e (2014 rules havent done the new ones yet).  - I am comfortable learning new systems - I want to play, NOT pay. Do not invite me to paid games.  - I prefer the roleplay, exploration and discovering aspects, combat is fine but I HATE when it drags on. Okay thats all, thanks for reading.

Is DnD still king? A deep dive into Groupfinder’s 2026 matchmaking data

TTRPG
In the world of tabletop gaming, there is one system that towers above all others. Whether you are a veteran of the hobby or just getting into it, you are aware of the elephant in the room. As the hobby evolves with new rulesets and indie titles, we dived deep into the numbers we are seeing on Groupfinder. Based on the currently active posts on Groupfinder, which comes down to 1560 active players and 688 active groups, here are some numbers that better describe the current landscape. /images/general-media/1775486691_3CWZADDB.pngThe current active posts on Groupfinder, as of April 6, 2026. You can see the live numbers here. The dominance of D&D It will come as no surprise to most of us, that Dungeons & Dragons remains as the dominant force in the hobby space. And while some of us (generally veterans who have played for a long period of time) feel like D&D has outlived itself and is losing to the newer titles. The numbers tell another story: Groups: ~60% of all the groups currently looking for players are for Dungeons and Dragons, either 5.5E, 5E or some previous edition. Players: If groups are over half, then the player side is even steeper. As 90% of all player posts on Groupfinder are looking for a D&D game. While many players are also open to playing other game systems, the vast majority still treats D&D as their go-to system. Looking to start your TTRPG hobby journey? It seems like you should find a dungeons and dragons group first. Beyond just D&D An encouraging trend we can see from our data, is the players' willingness to experiment and also try something else. While 90% of the players are looking to play D&D, they aren't only looking for a D&D group. When we exclude Dungeons & Dragons from the statistics, we can draw a clear "Top 5" of adjacent systems. Based on the currently active posts in April 2026, these are the most popular systems on Groupfinder right now: Pathfinder 1 & Pathfinder 2 combined Daggerheart Call of Cthulhu Vampire: The Masquerade Cyberpunk RED /images/general-media/1775485987_rve3K01J.pngCurrently popular systems (players and groups combined) The Groupfinder Library We believe that exposing players to alternative systems will keep the hobby-space fresh and thriving. This is why we have created the Groupfinder Library - an all-encompassing collection of various resources: Tools, Platforms, Creators, Communities and Game systems. We are hoping that players looking for a D&D game, might stumble upon some other game system in the library and discover that the hobby isn't just Dungeons & Dragons. Perhaps their journey won't have a traditional start and their first game is something else entirely. By lowering the barrier to entry for non-D&D systems, we hope to make the hobby more diverse and vibrant for everyone. 10.04.2026 Edit: The library is now live - read more about it in our Update log. Are you already part of the data? Whether you are a DM looking for a party or a player looking for a home, your voice helps us understand where the hobby is going. Looking for a game? Browse the player profiles and let DMs find you. Looking for players? Take a look at all the groups looking for players and start your next adventure. What is Groupfinder? Groupfinder is a free global tabletop gaming "looking for group/players" matchmaking platform. The platform's growing userbase is a clear indication of a need for such an unifying place.  Read more about the platform here.
